Okay, can we take a moment to admire this gorgeous, woodsy Mandap that looks straight out of a rustic, Indian fairytale ? That's not all though - we love how simple and elegant this bride was. From a chic yellow mehendi outfit, to a classic, understated red lehenga and traditional gold jewellery- Komal kept everything in theme with her less is more approach. The sweet wedding had it's own charm with a fun Mehendi, a kickass Sangeet and a wedding that was enviable. Bhumi and Simran Photography★ 5  captured all this beauty at the stunning Neemrana Fort Palace Alwar★ 4.4 in many interesting ways.

Meet Komal & Varun

"Our parents introduced us. I was living in Mumbai and Varun was based in Toronto. So we began with a Whatsapp message followed by Skype calls. We liked each but it was a big decision so we both decided to spend sometime together and travel together to know each other better. From Toronto we travelled to Montreal , Niagra and NYC, we had a blast. After Montreal, I wanted to take the plane ride to Niagra and Varun surprised me, he literally swept me off my feet by flying the plane (as a co pilot). We both felt the connection but we both had our lives and jobs in two different continents. So it was a tough one.

Two months later we met again in NYC where he surprised me with a proposal but it was without a ring. I was happy but confused too. Three weeks later we met again in London when he proposed for the second time but still, no ring. I did't know if it's really happening or if he is just fooling around. Next day we planned to travel to Glasglow and hired a car to travel to Loch Lomond ( beautiful drive and beautiful place). While we were driving to Loch Lomond, in the middle of highway Varun suddenly parked the car on the side. It was a beautiful spot with a lake, lots of greenery, mountains and a rainbow so I thought we are just gonna click some pictures. But he had another plan, he sat on his knees and asked the question again but this time he sealed it with ring the ring.

The fairytale trip got over and we got back to our Skype relationship. Meanwhile our parents started pushing us to take it forward and get married. Now we got the trailer of how its going to be living with each other and we loved every bit of it. So we decided to make it legal - get married ☺." explains Komal.

From The Bride:

"We literally planned our whole wedding with WedMeGood as our guide. It wasn’t easy for us because since we are based in Toronto and we decided to plan the whole wedding in India sitting in Canada. And we didn’t want to take any wedding planner onboard simply because we wanted to do everything our way. So for us the only way to get vendor options was through the wedmegood website.

Until we started planning our own wedding we didn’t have idea how big of task is this to plan a wedding and to find right vendors not just suiting your budget and taste but also matching your sensibilities. Because we didn’t want typical Delhi style big fat wedding. We wanted a small, simple, intimate yet fun wedding" says Komal.

"Ours was a 2-day affair. We began our celebrations with a fun Mehendi with just 80 family and friends at the pool area of Neemrana fort. With very minimal yet very pretty Indian décor elements, it was a blast. We had Dhol and bhangra artists to pep up the Mehendi feel and this was followed by Tilak ceremony for the groom. Then it was the Sangeet and the Ring Ceremony which was super fun party with performances from family & friends, a few couple games and emotional moments. Our ring exchange part was the surprise part for both the families. Only we both knew the whole act. Basically we exchanged rings in our dance performance where Varun performed on “tune leke mai jawanga” .

We had our Hindu wedding ceremony at the hanging gardens of Neemrana fort followed by doli bidai and wedding games. The Wedding reception Party had our entry with the traditional pipe band and fireworks followed by a toast and cake cutting. The party continued with Rajasthani Kalbelyia dance performances" adds Komal.
