Pre-Festive Skin Prep For A Glossy Glow

When you look good, you feel good. That’s why glowing, glossy skin is a must if you want to dazzle this festive season. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will your skin find its glow overnight. Even more so, since festivities bring their surfeit of late nights and guilty indulgences, it’s all the more necessary to lavish TLC on your skin well in advance. Basics like drinking gallons of water, laying off the booze and junk are a given. Here’s what else you need to get glass skin.

Find The Right Face Wash

It’s time to revamp your skincare routine. That means NEVER going to bed without taking your makeup off and washing your face every morning and night with a formula suited to your skin type. Dry-Sensitive skin? Switch to a creamy formula like Kaya Creamy Exfoliating Rinse, a luxurious cream-based exfoliating cleanser with Japanese Cherry and Purple Orchid extracts. If you’re in a rush, reach for a cotton pad soaked in micellar water to wipe away dirt without causing dryness. If your skin is particularly oily try Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel Ph5.5 to melt blackheads, cleanse pores and smoothen texture.

Rethink Your Scrub

Since a build up dead skin can throw off your glow, you need to invest in a gentle, exfoliating sugar-based scrub like Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish and use it twice a week. But remember to be kind to your skin afterwards, and slather on an antioxidant serum like It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector. It’s a good idea to invest in a loofah and hydrating body wash like The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish Scrub as well, to buff the rest of your stuff while you’re at it. But easy does it. What you want is bright and youthful skin, not redness and irritation.

Tone Those Pores

Follow up with an all-skin-type toner like Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner With Himalaya Waters, a fabulous blend of Cucumber, Coriander, Berberry, Peppermint oil and the fresh water from the Himalayas, to tighten pores (the first step to glass skin). Finish up with a broad spectrum sunscreen like L'Oreal Paris UV Perfect Aqua Essence SPF 50. Sounds like a lot doesn’t it? It’s non-negotiable if glass skin that reflect light is what you’re after.

There’s nothing like too many masks

There’s such a wide range out there suited to every possible skin type. It’s a good idea to indulge a few times a week or whenever you feel your skin needs a little TLC. Select glow giving ones like Lotus Herbals Radiant Gold Cellular Glow Facial Kit or MCaffeine Choco Caffeine Glow Face Mask for Oily/Normal Skin with Argan Oil and Vitamin E - Clay Based that nourish skin, plump it up from within and enhance radiance.

Face Oils are your new BFF

What’s not to love? They plump up skin, boost hydration, and add radiance without the shine. And since they’re oils they add a little gleam of their own. In fact, if you have oily skin, love them more. Face oils actually REDUCE sebum production so you’ll look more glowy than greasy. Layer one like Royalry Essentials Rose Gold Oil under your regular moisturizer. For even glassier skin, add a drop to your foundation and look lit!

Have A Good Night With Retinol

If you’ve missed the buzz about this miracle skin ingredient, we’ll quickly recap. Retinol increases collagen production, firms skin, and evens out tone and texture. That makes it THE best glow-inducing skincare thing ever. Get your hands on RoC Pro-Correct Anti-Wrinkle Rejuvenating Concentrate Intensive that works like a prescription strength retinoid but causes no irritation. Word of advice. NEVER leave home without sunscreen, especially if you’re using retinoid cream at night.

Now get glowing!
