The DO's
Stick to a particular theme or colour scheme
The Royal Affair says, "What we really believe is that no matter the size and scale of the wedding one thing that everyone should do is decide a particular color scheme for the decor and go ahead with that. A particular color scheme is easy on the eyes looks aesthetically pleasing."Personalising the decor works well
Camera Waale Baraati say, "Adding a personal touch to the decor, telling your story through photos or text can again really make for some fantastic candid snaps."Pay attention to the lighting and backdrops
Camera Waale Baraati add, "Lights can make all the difference to how your wedding photos turn out. Use them creatively to give your photos pretty and quirky backgrounds."Give extra attention to events post sunset
Into Candid Photography says, "If you are hosting an outdoor event that's taking place post sunset, make sure it's lit well. One can make use of little light bulbs to lit up the place which will look pretty in terms of decor and also allow the photographers to create some beautiful images."Let us collaborate with the planner / decorator
Wedding Nama says, "Make sure your planner and photographer work in tandem. Wedding designers / planners must give us a beautiful canvas to work on. Before the wedding, discuss lighting requirements & other general suggestions so you are both on the same page. If you are planning a palace wedding, then it should feel like one. Instead of having the wedding mandap in a corner, have the Palace in the background. Instead of having all functions in the ballroom, plan more outdoor functions and make full use of the various spaces at the venue."Image via Camera Waale Baraati
The DON'TS
Keep it simple!
Camera Waale Baraati say, "Don't overdo the decor with too many flowers or drapes. Simple works best!"Say no to coloured LEDs
The Royal Affair says, "Get rid of the led lights as much as possible. Go with normal white halogen lights as you could never go wrong with those. Trying to take pictures with colorful LEDS is just bad because of the tint it creates on your skin and sometimes the tint is so bad a few pictures become unusable."The decor should keep the use of flash to a minimum
Into Candid Photography says, "The decor should be such that it gives a more of a natural look and not kill the ambience by using flash."Image via Into Candid Photography
Give adequate space to the photographers
Wedding Nama says, " Nowadays, capturing weddings gets crazy because a lot of times the place around the bride and groom is really crowded and to top it all, every guest wants to take photographs on this/her phones/iPads/DSLRs which makes it very difficult for professional photographers to do their job well. This can be avoided if the planners can plan the spaces & seating arrangements well and give a clear view of the couple even from a distance.
So, keep these pointers in mind!
