A Sikh bride in deep purple? Well, we've probably never featured one before- Real Bride Mukta really upped the game with this one in her offbeat lehenga. Her wedding to her childhood sweetheart Jaikiran happened amidst the pandemic, and was an intimate affair attended by near and dear ones in Mumbai. Her flawless makeup by Doll You Up by S made her stand out, we loved her vibrant mehendi look with a trendy fuschia mirror work lehenga but it was her offbeat Sikh bridal look that really stole the show.
Meet Mukta and Jaikiran
My husband and I, met when we were 16 at french tuitions, he coincidently was in put in my batch for 2-3 classes after which we got talking and eventually dating. He moved to London for his graduation and masters after first year of dating, which made it difficult to carry on the relationship, we broke up since coping with long distance was hard but got back after a year, we went through a few ups and downs but eventually made it through after 11 years, we both deep down always knew that this was going to work out, when we met at 16-17.

From The Bride
Our wedding took place at Taj Colaba on Nov 9, 2020. It was originally planned for October 11, 2020 since it was the date on which, we were unsure of everything while planning the wedding due to COVID and the lockdown since everything was so unpredictable, a destination wedding was not possible so we picked Taj Colaba since the property is beautiful and vintage, we were unsure of the number of functions until the last minute, however 2 weeks before the wedding both families tested positive for COVID and we had to push the wedding to November. It was a very intimate wedding with our dear ones, we cherished and enjoyed every minute of this wedding and couldn’t have asked for anything better. The wedding took place safely with all guests being COVID negative post the wedding. While chosing my outfits, I always wanted to do something different and something that most brides don’t do, which is why I chose colors and designers that no one I knew had done. Purple and green was a combination no one had done, especially an Anand Karaj bride, I chose my outfits online and luckily for me fittings weren’t a hassle for me.

Makeup Artist: Doll You Up By S
In terms of makeup, I am a minimalistic make up / no make up make up look person and had been seeing makeup artists' profiles for a long time during my cousins and friends wedding, but didn’t resonate with any. One day, while I was finally looking for a make up artist for my wedding now, my mother told me to see Shradha Luthra’s profile and work and I called her up the very next day, we connected instantly and she lived up to every bit! I couldn’t have asked for a better look and more so the process of getting ready never felt like a process, it was fun and I enjoyed every single bit of it!
