Haven't our Indian weddings become pretty predictable? It's good to see a lot of couples and families choosing to infuse a certain amount of freshness and excitement into their weddings with new ideas and decors, but most of them are limited to that. Theme weddings are still pretty rare in India, and we really wish more couples take inspiration and choose to go down that path! Not only are they fun, but they necessarily don't have to break the bank... some of the more intimate ones will end up costing much lesser than a regular big fat Indian wedding! These ideas can be worked around to suit any event in the run up to the wedding or the wedding itself!
So here are some of the themes we're loving off late... take some inspiration guys!
Glamping Setting

To put it simply, glamping is glamourous camping! It takes the 'roughing it' out of camping, and is adventures yet luxurious at the same time! Glamping-inspired weddings are popping up all over the world, especially on Instagram and Pinterest, and they look soooo refreshing! While the base idea is of camping, this idea combines rustic with woodland settings and pretty decor... and not to forget the cozy but luxurious tents! It's all about nature, and definitely something your guests would have never attended or even imagined! While abroad there are glamping-specific venues, in India you can try one out at an outdoor camping resort if you really want... might require a lot more coordination on your end, but it will all be worth it!

Forest Setting

The best part about this theme is that not only is it gorgeous, but it is also pretty flexible... you can do a day or night forest-themed wedding... or even indoors or outdoors! You can choose to have your wedding in the lap of nature in a real forest, or have a green-foresty decor indoors too... it lends such a fairytale enchanting vibe to everything! Yep.. you can be a real-life princess in the woods if you want! What's even better? You need minimum setup... just the right spot that's safe, accessible and breathtaking!
The Starry Night
The starry night theme involves hundreds of tiny fairy lights criss-crossed to create a magical theme that looks like the night sky . You could do this for a cocktail night that people will remember or just as a gorgeous night wedding.
Picnic Setting

While we've spotted this theme in quite a few pre-wedding photoshoots off late, this makes for a cozy intimate wedding theme as well. You can choose to have picnic haldi, mehendi or even engagement, especially functions with a close-knit small group. You can have a formal one with champagne and a formal table setting, or casual one with a DIY sandwich bar and beer barrels! You can get as creative as you want with the setting and the food!
Movie night Theme

How cool would it be if you hosted an intimate function like say a Sangeet with a movie night theme? Instead of having live performances, you could have them pre-recorded, or maybe even have a cute little movie based on the two of you! And with that would be popcorn, nachos, candy carts... everything to give a movie theatre feel! If you could manage it, this could be even done outdoors on a pleasant night with a makeshift theatre screen and projector... just lay down a few rugs and blankets! A perfect idea to incorporate in a destination wedding!
Eco-friendly Theme

It is unfortunately true that most weddings generate a ton of waste- be it in terms of food or garbage. But there are so many little things you can do to make your wedding green and eco-friendly... like using solar lights, making people take home a sapling to plant or reducing the carbon footprint in any way possible! Chic Bohemian Theme
Eventures
Bohemian decor really stands out with all the colours and an air of casualness and fun. But now, it's no longer about kitschy cliché ideas. The trend is slowly moving towards more couture and artisanal. Marigolds are replaced by baby breaths and quirky prints with bold hues, chai glasses with old-school kettles, poster-ed walls with stained glass separators and embellished heels with sneakers. The hipster bride is here to stay and she’s looking her best in aviators and a big smile. A kind of classier bohemian world is being created – so chic!
Carnival Theme

A perfect idea for a Reception, which is more like an after party anyway, where everyone including the bride and the groom can let loose after a heavy dose of action! Have jugglers, clowns, easy rides, games and loads of booths and maybe even food trucks... so there's something for everyone.. be it the kids or the adults! And not to mention how bright and cheerful everything is going to be!
So what do you think? Would you give any of these themes a shot?
