Modern Marathi Wedding In Nagpur With Distinct Themes For Each Event
|
|
Now this was a wedding that had a whole lotta functions, and a whole lotta fun! Madhura and Ajinkya had their Marathi wedding in a modern twist in their own way. From a pool party to two wedding functions, their wedding had a lot of little ideas that are up for grabs- right from the theme of every event to the cute decor elements! Also do not miss the cute IIM love story!
Meet Madhura and Ajinkya
Ajinkya and I first crossed paths at an icebreaker session in IIM Ahmedabad’s first year. We shared nothing in common - Ajinkya, a mechanical engineer from IIT and I, a Chartered Accountant. He is always in the midst of people, outgoing and dancing his heart out while I had an avid interest in creativity and kept a small intimate circle. But somehow, we just instantly clicked! Soon our conversations turned into long walks, deep conversations and exploring our mutual love of food.
Overlooking the Arabian Sea, Ajinkya popped the question at sunset time in blissful Goa. I already knew that he was the perfect guy for me, but he felt that the realization set in as we spent the most time apart in lockdown, and he planned a grand surprise proposal. I stood there looking into his eyes and being sure of the adventure ahead against the melody of soft, love songs that filled the air just as the waves gently kissed our feet.

Wedding
From The Bride:
We both envisioned a vibrant celebration where our guests could enjoy, dance and have an unforgettable experience. From a laid-back pool party to a Rajasthani mela-themed Mehndi, to all floral affair at Haldi, a big Bollywood starry sangeet and more – we planned every function with a distinct theme, matching décor and guest engagement. For the wedding rituals, we decided to have an authentic Peshwai wedding true to our Maharshtrian roots before changing into our royal attires for Baraat and Varmala. The Varmala was held outdoors under a gorgeous mandap bedecked with dainty pink roses and ivory drapes against a rustic greenery of bamboo trees.
Vendor Reviews
Venue: Ambika Farms
Located in the outskirts of Nagpur, Ambika Farms is surrounded by greenery, tall bamboo trees and beautiful fuss-free architecture. It was the ideal location to pull off our intimate yet royal wedding. The planner team at Ambika took the time to really understand who we are as a couple, what ideas we had for our wedding and adapted their thoughts to ours. They made sure of every small thing, every finer detail of décor to be precisely the way we had envisioned. What was really important to us was that the wedding felt personal, and that there were touches of our personalities everywhere, without it being too obvious or blatant. We wanted our guests to be thoroughly engaged in the wedding – the team helped us plan everything around people, enjoyment, and dance. Very happy with the team for the decor for all the functions. Hats off to the team!
Hair and Makeup: Liza and Shweta
Liza is amazing at what she does, but more importantly, she has the most calming energy which made me feel so relaxed in the midst of all the wedding frenzy. I love that her aesthetic is natural and modern and I felt so stunning! She really made me feel at ease considering the first time I met her was right at the wedding venue.
Shweta, on the other hand, was extremely professional and skilled. She executed all my wedding looks exactly how I had imagined and thought.
e-Invites: Perfect Invites
Before finalizing Perfect Invites, I talked to at least 20 vendors and was nervous about how the invite will turn out. But fortunately, I came across Perfect Invites. He is very collaborative, patient and takes the effort to make an invite that represents the couple's personalities, likings and ideas. Highly recommended!
Floral Jewellery: Fern Flora Accessories, Nagpur
The place for trendy yet distinctive floral jewelry. Fern Flora Accessories was my savior – she ensured timely delivery of all my floral accessories by personally delivering them to my makeup artists who then brought them to the wedding venue which was an hour-long drive from the city. I got floral kaleere for Mehendi and floral jewellery for Haldi which everyone just adored. Thanks for such amazing work!
