Majestic wedding at Jai Mahal Palace

When the bride goes on a hunt to specifically look for coral colored chooras to match her lehenga, you know she is a stickler for details ..and the details are evident in this palace wedding!! Starting with a funky champagne brunch(with a wheel barrow as a shot bar), and ending with a majestic palace wedding in a stunning peach Sabysachi- this wedding captured through the lens of Arjun Mahajan is definite drool material.
Meet Priyanka and Digant
Priyanka recounts "On my winter vacation in Delhi, my cousin couldn't stop raving on about this amazing friend that she HAD to make me meet. Enter Digant *Sharma* who greeted me in the middle of the road with a garland of flowers to welcome me to Delhi but more so to mortify me. Who knew we would be repeating that 11 years later? We were inseparable from the day we met and spent every breathing moment together during that winter vacation. He then went back to the UK where he was studying and I went back to Chandigarh. After a very long distance relationship, we then decided to move back to India (Delhi) and start our own city based portal So Delhi concentrating on our love for Delhi and since then there has been no looking back! "We are tying the knot, so you take a shot" - sign on the shot bar

Don't miss the coral colored Choora
Gorgeous, we have had our fair share of Sabyasachi lehengas on WMG but this peach beauty is so unique
From the bride: Our celebrations kicked off with a champagne brunch at The Lodhi Delhi which was a refreshing change from the usual youngsters that takes place. With Whites and Brights as the main theme, the whole venue came to life with its pop colours and fun decor. The live music by Shaheen Salmani , a Magician (Shankar Bakshi from Zero Gravity), A Balloon Twister , and an instant photo booth and Face Paint/Nail Art to keep the kids entertained. The remaining functions took place in Jaipur at ITC Rajputana and Jai Mahal Palace. As cliched as it may sound, I always wanted to get married in a palace and keep the guest list close and I’m glad that dream came true. Decor wise, the lesser you decorate Jai Mahal the more stunning it looks so a simple rani pink and gold theme worked for us.
For invitations, Neha Singh Bhatia in Defence Colony gave me a card themed around Jaipur (in full gallery)with its vibrant colours & a palace outline and incorporating our personal hashtag #DNP14. The sweets were done by The Sweet Boutique with a mix of different flavours - chocolate/litchi/peach and nut offerings. Digant's card came with 6 different customized chocolates with unique flavours like Chocolate Praline with Mixed Nuts, Hayward Kiwi filled Chocolate & Strawberry Ganache white Chocolate implemented by Chocolatiers-The Chocolate Boutique .The customized wrappers were designed by Digant, each of them having our photographs from over the years.
I am a color person and for the wedding I wanted something ethereal but also something ME. I met up with Sabyasachi and he showed me a single panel of a bridal lehenga from his new collection which was inspired by Raja Ravi Varma’s painting . It took my breath away - antique look and pearls coupled with fresh colours - rose pink, orange and teal with hints of blues and greens and golds, I loved the detailing. Although he wanted to give me a jade blouse, I literally fought for a teal coloured one, I think I was having a bridezilla moment there, Lol!
Also, I specially went in search for coral coloured churas and after much hunting, I went to Babu Churi Wala in Lajpat Nagar who I highly recommend. They showcase a range of beautiful bangles and also customize absolutely any colour you want!!
My Makeup Artist was Janet, the Senior artist of Anu Kaushik. She did a great job as I only asked her for one thing - to put on as little make up as possible *not every make-up artist’s muse I suppose* but that’s me!
