We think it started with 'Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani' and the brunch mehendi they showed Kalki having at Udaivilas, but all of a sudden, there was this influx of 'Brunch engagements', 'Brunch mehendis' and the like with pool side settings, generous amounts of Mojitos doing the rounds, finger food and music to kick of the day.

2015 however has been the year of Sundowners , replacing the super trending brunches. So what exactly is a 'Sundowner ' ?  Well, it starts at about 5 pm , typically in an open lawn, garden or farmhouse. The idea is to get started with cocktails and finger food as the sun goes down and then party into the night with dinner being served as well. These events make for some gorgeous sunset photography, and for those of you who want to party in the evening without it stretching to 3 am (because the next day is probably some puja at a godforsaken hour) these are perfect. In terms of outfits- think more formal than a  brunch, less formal than a full fledged cocktail. Light , floaty lehenga sets, floor length anarkalis or gowns, lots of floral print with a bit of glitz. They work great for all types of events- engagements, mehendis, cocktails and even weddings. Pheras with the sun setting- yes please !
