When we saw Avani & Adwait's drama filled, full Bollywood proposal, we couldn't help but smile along with them! It was adorable. The fact that they've known each other since forever, and their explosive chemistry was clearly visible. With so much love between them, they decided to get engaged in the middle of a pandemic, because how could they not! It was a small home ceremony with the closest of friends and family and the couple having the time of their life!

Avani writes about their love life, how they were meant for each other and how they've grown together from kids to becoming this couple who know they've found their soulmate, "We knew each other since 7, but we were only acquaintances back then. Aware of each other but not bothered by it. Slowly things changed and we became friends while I was in my 10th grade. Gradually, we became best friends and even helped each other through past relationships. But one evening, everything kinda felt different and we realised we are more than just friends. As they say, one thing led to another and were soon introducing our parents to each other! Through the lockdown we could hardly stay away from each other, although we live only 5 mins away. So, this year, on 26th June we got engaged! And we wouldn’t have it any other way. Because of the pandemic we kept it really tiny. The function was spread over 2 days. The first day was mehandi and second day was a small pooja in the afternoon & then the engagement ceremony. Although it was tiny we had the people we wanted by our side."

The Engagement

From The Bride:

We will get married in January 2021, hopefully by then the pandemic settles down. We’ve got engaged on the 26th of June. 25th was the mehandi with a a yellow & orange for everyone! Everyone was expected to be dressed in those colours while we tried to get the decor to match it with similar coloured dupattas. 26th was the engagement. The day started with a pooja where we both were dressed in red. I was in a Red and gold Chanderi while he wore a silk red kurta. Evening was the ring ceremony. We wanted our decor in white all along the stairs and the garden door with pink cherry blossoms and so everyone was asked to be dressed in green! Both of us chose to wear a mix of white & gold with a tinge of green to it.

Vendor Reviews:

Planners: Laughing Lions
They did a fab job! The decorators maintained all safety measures and arrived well in time. We were discussing our plans not more than 15 days before the day. But in such less time they visited our house twice with the flower decorators and gave us just what we wanted.

Makeup Artist: Sarah Lele
You know brides are known to throw tantrums and have mood swing & I was no less. She took care of all my moods and kept telling me to breathe. She understood my looks well in advance and did just that! I wouldn’t have been even half as happy if it wasn’t for her those days!

Photography: The Lost Project
My fiancé is a videographer & photographer himself. His team shot our days.

Bridal Wear: Poshakh Fabrics
It has been my childhood dream to wear outfits that my mother designs for me for my wedding. My mother has her clothing line called Poshakh Fabrics for the past 26 years so she designed all our outfits.

Mehendi Artist: Reshma
She was so good! Clean & punctual. Most importantly she hid my finacé’s name so well! It took him 3 days to find it!!!
