Meet Tanya & Anshuman
"Anshuman and I went to the same university for under graduation, we started hanging out because of our shared interest in debating. From there on, we discovered many more shared interests over the next decade and continue to," shares the bride.
Mehendi
Hosted at the backyard of the bride's ancestral home, the intimate Mehendi ceremony was all about great décor, good vibes and a whole lot of love.

From The Bride:
We got married on the 5th of March 2021. We originally wanted a beach wedding, but eventually settled on a smaller wedding in our home town to keep our friends and family safe from COVID-19. But we still wanted it to reflect our personalities, so we kept it simple, elegant, personalized and made sure to make the most of the natural beauty it was set in.
I always knew I would not be wearing traditional outfits for my wedding, so I really had to hunt to find designs that reflected me but could still be wedding wear. Malasa created a light airy fun sharara outfit for me that was perfect for a home function, made me look like the bride, but still gave me movement to have fun with my family and friends. For the wedding, we both picked Anita Dongre outfits that werent from the groom/bridal collection, but she and her team got us what we were looking for and uplifted those designs to be fit for the wedding. Our designers worked virtually with us to get the perfect outfit selected and ready and then pulled all the stops in the week before once we were in India to do final touches.

Wedding Planning & Decor: Designer Events Inc
Kaveri and Akshay (and their entire team) took incredible care of us and our families through the planning process and the wedding days. We were doing a lot of the work virtually since we were not in India till 2 weeks before the wedding, and they made sure to be super on top of things so that we didn’t have to worry. We also didn’t want our parents to do much running around given COVID-19, so they stepped in, made it their problem and very much became part of our household leading up to the wedding. It still felt like a home production and not a grandiose affair, which was very important to us.
Regarding décor, they had a tough challenge ahead of them as we had big ideas for décor and personalization initially but had scaled back the wedding, so they had to find a way for the setup to look like our vision but still not overpower the small wedding vibe. They iterated with us on the smallest of details and really captured the vibe we wanted for both the wedding and Mehendi. They seamlessly blended their décor ideas into our home setting and it turned into something magical. It took a village and I’m thankful for them.
Venue: The Oberoi, New Delhi
We both decided on keeping the wedding intimate since this was a Covid wedding and had only 20 people under the suns shadow at The Oberoi’s Terrace Garden. A hospitable staff along with magnificent ambience and detailing, the place took our hearts.
Bridal Makeup (Mehendi): Blush Lounge by Sneha
I relied on my friends’ experiences to select my makeup artists as I was looking for someone that would listen to me and work with my aesthetic. For the mehendi, Sneha (Blush Lounge by Sneha), helped me glam up my simple outfit for a function at home with big eyes and dewy tones. She recognised the setting, my style, and created the perfect look for me (and my mom!).
Bridal Makeup (Wedding): Paveena Rathour
She started working with me months before the wedding to help me get my skin looking good, gave me the tricks of the trade, and went back and forth with me till I was satisfied with the vision for the day. I was wearing non-traditional colours and she made sure to come up with a look that went well with them.

Rohit and Rahul were brilliant, we wanted to go with someone that could catch the candid moments, because our families aren’t into posed photos and neither are we. They came highly recommended by family friends and they exceeded even that bar. They worked with us to manage blending into our home environment at the functions while we and the family took front and center enjoying the moment and that made all the difference. Once we saw the pictures and videos we knew we had made the right decision, because they got us, our vibe and what we wanted right in one shot!
