Ashima & Akhil's wedding mandap was truly gorgeous and looked straight out of a jungle setup! It was green and lustrous and looked perfect with Ashima's bright pink bridal lehenga. The couple was a vision with Akhil's safa matching her lehenga. We also loved Ashima's vibrant deep blue Sangeet lehenga, which was just a different shade for someone's Sangeet. Beginnings For You★ 4.8 shot this Delhi wedding in a brilliant manner and we know the images are pin worthy.

Meet Ashima & Akhil

As a couple, we epitomise friendship. We were best friends in college yet, interestingly enough, it was only after college, that we had our ‘Jaane tu ya jaane na’ moment when we realized that we are more than just friends!

Although it’s love marriage, we have a pact to always be ‘best friends before lovers’ in our marriage. We have been in a relationship for the past 5 years and have known each other for a total of 9 years. The last 3 years have been in an ultra long distance between the US and India…We did take out a lot of little cute ways to stay connected and survive through this long distance merrily...skype video calls and virtual dinner dates are our favorites. With our level of experience at this, we can practically write a book on “100 tips for acing a long-distance relationship”

The Sangeet

The Wedding

From The Bride:

“An elegant and classy wedding with a Fauji flavor surrounded by love, magic and joy.”

I wanted a timeless and sophisticated wedding and a special focus on the day being intimate, surrounded by the people who matter the most to me.

Moreover, I was dead set on having a fauji element in the wedding to signify our long association with Army (my dad was in the India Army and was awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumous!) For our reception entry, we were accompanied by smartly dressed army men from my father’s unit, playing to the tunes of a typical army band. This was the most mesmerizing part of the wedding.

I have been closely planning my wedding, right from the venue surveys, to decorations, to entertainment, etc. Having researched all kinds of weddings, I narrowed down on having fewer elements but those being elegant and a wedding styled with delicate flowers, subtle music and classy backdrops. The key element that I secretly wished to be the highlight was the wedding vedi. And I did have my dream come true. We planned my bridal entry around sunset to catch the day light (Now when I see the pictures, I can totally recommend everyone to just plan as much day light as possible for your wedding) and everything was running on Fauji standard time...the entry happened as planned under the most special chunni - My mum's wedding dupatta that she had embroidered herself. No one makes stuff like this now. By the time the actual feras happened the vision of having a dreamy vedi with flowers, lights and music became an actuality.

Vendor Reviews:

Decor: The Bride's Maid- A Luxury Wedding Designing & Planning Company
Komal and her team were excellent. She has a strong sense of aesthetics and creativity. She was extremely patient in understanding my requirements and delivered everything beyond my expectations. She considered the project as her own and was ready to go the extra mile to ensure that everything goes according to the vision we created. She made my D-day as dreamy and surreal as I want it to be.
