#Inspiration: Rustic Barn Wedding with a dash of Glam
|
|
If you thought rustic is all just green, earthy and nothing else, think again. Rustic weddings when recreated right are all about understated glamour and easy style. So we got Roma Kundnani, the founder of Memorabilis , the wedding planning company to show us how it's done - ooh, check out the bridesmaids and the bridal party sporting beautiful Sabya outfits and Raw Mango saris, bliss!
From The Planner:
"We have tried to create a perfect look for a garden wedding / cocktail. My intent was to plan a rustic, chic event that included beautiful flowers and simple décor, elegant chairs lined an outdoor courtyard that provided a naturally beautiful backdrop for the couple's ceremony. Pops of the couple's colour palette — navy, teal, chartreuse, pink, and purple. The couple could host a ceremony in a garden courtyard and welcome guests to a reception for an indoor venue - that was the general idea. For the Reception, guests sat at the massive wooden table decorated with sequins runner across the table topped with wild arrangements of roses and lilies of colour palette – peach, chartreuse and pink flowers. From the ceiling, we have dropped an old wooden ladder covered with twigs and bulbs and candle glass hangings giving a complete rustic mill look.
For brides and grooms who prefer the idea of a beautifully informal sit-down reception, to the tradition of sequence linen and fine china, think about layering raw and rustic textures for an unfussy elegance. There is an honesty that we love about unpolished materials in their most natural state; think gently crumpled linens, bone handled cutlery, beautiful flowers and candles. A sit-down dinner is inspired by a general movement away from fine dining towards a more inclusive family feast" explains Roma.
"Every couple longs for an outdoor wedding with long tables covered with delicious food and an overflow of laughing, dancing, friends, and family. A beautiful simple rustic, going-back-to-the-roots kinda celebration would make people believe in love again. The Great Eastern Homes, was an ideal venue for this set-up, the same venue is a hotspot for fashionable events in Mumbai and is an upcoming spot for niche weddings. Manish Malhotra held his Lakme Fashion Week show last year there, the Godrej family too held a private wedding there last November - that's why it made it to our ideal spot, for its simplicity and glamour. The outfits styled by Bridelan is the cherry on the top, the fabrics were subtle and the styling was impeccable. The photography by Shades Photography was a dream come true - they knew how to keep things effortless" adds Roma.
