When Tanya Sharma Bajaj who is a blogger at What Tanya Wore got hitched, we thought she would be perfect to tell us her story. Because most stores take ages to customise a bridal outfit, she had only 2 months to spare and a LOT to know. Honestly, that's the best part about being the WMG bride, knowing where and how stylish brides are getting their goodies! P.S What we really loved here was that she didn't go for anything fancy but yet got a bridal look that was every bit like a dream.

Where and How Did I Find My Perfect Bridal Lehenga…

So honestly, my wedding was a "chat mangni phat byah" kind of wedding so I didn’t have much time. My courtship was stated for just three months. As soon as I got the Roka done, the first thing I did was select my lehenga. I was torn between a pink lehenga and a red classic that I always loved. But instead, I went for a darker maroon and balanced it with a peach dupatta. I also went lighter for other functions - so I wore pink saree on my Engagement and to dazzle, I wore a red gown at my Reception.  Shopping though was a nightmare - I went to every designer store but nothing clicked.  Even if I found the one, I found that nobody had the time to customize it. It was then that I landed at Lehenga house, Chandni Chowk. My lehenga wasn't from a very well-known label or designer, it was a random store I entered that not many people knew about. After many efforts of surfing, I couldn’t stop dreaming about it, so I bought it and I’m so proud of it. Almost every person messaged me about where my lehenga was from and how much they loved it!

My Makeup and Beauty Secrets!

On my wedding day, my makeup looked like a dream. All thanks to my MUA, Pooja Khurana Makeovers★ 4.8 . She's a dream, blessing and everything a bride really needs. Ever since I saw Pooja’s profile on the WedMeGood app & Instagram, I loved whatever she did. When I booked Pooja, I was called for a personal consultation where I had to get some reference pictures in order for her to understand what do I like. So instead, I took the pictures of what absolutely didn’t like and we laughed realizing that is what matters the most. I just said one thing to her that I won’t ever forget “Pooja, the next morning when I wake up and my makeup is gone, I should still be recognized.” And rest all of it, she did. I’m so happy and grateful for her being. She’s the best. Pooja gave me exactly what I wanted - a neutral face, dewy complexion, a pink-purple smokey eye, natural blush and baby pink lips - it was minimalistic and simple and didn't take the attention away from my outfit. My reception makeup artist Misha was brilliant as well.

How Did I Do My Trousseau?

This was actually fun, I was a girl who has always loved wearing Indian suits, Kurtis and Anarkalis. I got all of my suits customized from my own boutique, nothing absolutely nothing was bought from the outside and that just made it so simple. I used to spend hours stalking the interested and everything I loved.

Apart from this, I focused on stuff that I could mix and match. I got a simple long kurta to pair with palazzos, I would also get a skirt to this same set for a little heavier look for a bigger occasion. I got multiple simple anarkalis with the heaviest of dupattas for me to feel less and more at the same time and of course always played little ruffles, sleeves, cuts, and styles.
