Let's face it, two of the hardest wedding tasks for the couples is picking the bridesmaids and groomsmen, phew! And then, of course, ensuring they get along. That's two cultures and two different families getting together for a big event. So imagine how all these crazy friends, your BFFs, his graduation pals, your college girls, a hundred cousins, Baraatis (Groomsmen ) and ladkiwale (Bridesmaids) getting along well enough make the best wedding crew? Well, it is possible for all of them to help you walk down the aisle as one big happy family - just follow these few tips first!

Introduce them well If everyone knows everyone - there should not be any awkwardness, right? So, introduce them well first. Send out an email with the picture and a little introduction so when they meet they pointers to start a conversation. Not to everyone but a select few that you want everyone to know. A nice short mail with a picture and a little nice intro would do. Host a brunch beforehand If most of the crew is in the same city, host a fun informal brunch before the wedding - almost like a rehearsal dinner. This could be a potluck or a simple brunch with wine and pasta. Organise a few games, stir up memories, and pair up people who you think will work well. Organize this a few months before the wedding so the wedding party can take their time to bond and get into planning the bachelor parties and wedding details. Champion friend in charge We all have that one friend who is funny, easy and gets along with anyone. That is your champion friend. Pick the friend and ask them to help break the ice - make sure everyone is introduced. Keep the champion friend posted about personality clashes, or any anticipated drama so they can handle it and ease situations. Maximize on the meeting Try to get the crew together as much as you can. Meeting each other is often is a great way to get comfortable. Use the sangeet dance practice, shopping, photoshoots and Friday night unwinding sessions to get as many people from your wedding party together. Build a crew Try to treat them as a crew vs as individuals. Make a WhatsApp group and give everyone duties. An FB page is great for ideas etc. Interact with them about issues beyond the wedding. You can make plans, discuss the news, holidays spots and events or even split up and play online games. The idea is for everyone to get to know each other and have fun while at it. Involve them in a DIY  DIY ideas at weddings and no one to help? Enlist the girls from all corners to bond over wine, cocktails and Fevicol. Cousins, bridesmaids, BFFs and far-off relatives. It's like an old knitting group - gossip shall flow. Organise an interesting activity a day before the real festivities begin I went to a wedding where the bride organised a backwater boat ride in Kumarakom to everyone who came for the destination wedding. It had everyone on a boat for 3 hours - so we had to bond. So find a neat activity that everyone will love - a pool party or a fun karaoke party. Organise a spice trail, or an eventful cooking class - while you get your spa time. They get entertained and get to know each other without you doing all the talking. Just give these ideas a try and we assure you, your wedding party will be getting along great and be ready to take on your D-day with full force. So relax and have fun before the wedding shenanigans begin! P.S: Don't forget to play cupid if you can.
