Honeymoon Bucket List: Experiences To Tick Off During Yours!
|
|
Let's be honest — The honeymoon is what most grooms (and brides) look forward to during the planning process. It's where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy each other's company in a location you've probably only dreamt of previously. But don't let your honeymoon be hijacked with constant sight seeing, enjoy a few of these unique experiences together!
2. Go for a morning bicycle ride: Rent a bike and roam the city together. You can do that with an open- jeep, Segway or even trek! WMG Recommends: Segway tours in Prague. Do we need to say no more
3. Plan a surprise for your partner: After planning for your wedding together for months, it’s a bit of a relief to get a surprise. WMG Recommends: Hot Air Balloon Ride at Cappadocia, Turkey. Absolute best!
4. X-rated Fun: Well, not quite X-rated, but boudoir-related at least! When it comes to your honeymoon, jaw dropping lingerie is but obvious, you might want to take it up a notch with a few fun items in the bedroom for new experiences WMG Recommends: Agent Provocateur & Victoria’s Secret are your new best friends! You could gift him a boudoir shoot for your honeymoon.
5. Plan a Photoshoot: Creating memories is always going to be a wonderful experience. If possible, hire a local photographer to get a photo-shoot done. The scenery will be exotica and so will your post-intimacy glow! Heck, we might even cancel our pre-wedding shoot and transfer the budgets here WMG Recommends: Taj Exotica, Maldives offers a photo-shoot at their resort for honeymooners!
6. Buy a Keepsake that's something local : A piece of art, some local pottery, or a book; make sure you pick up a special memento of your honeymoon to keep in your home for years to come. WMG Recommends: Go a little Bollywood crazy and pick up that cow-bell from the Swiss Alps which was a hit in DDLJ! (Cheesy, but cute)
7. Go Tech-Free: Okay, we’re guilty of breaking this rule, but really it’s something we should all try. Have some days – at least one day of your honeymoon that’s entirely tech-free. Be in the moment, with no smart phones, no laptops, and no social media. Carry a camera! WMG Recommends: Ladakh is the one place that you can explore without wi-fi. That is, if that darned Airtel girl doesn't get there!
8. Learn something together like cocktail mixing: Learning something new will bring out different facets in your partner that you may never see in your routine plus you learn something new! Double whammy! WMG Recommends: The Bar with No Name at London, opened by bar-tending legend Tony Conigliaro, hosts a regular series of ever-changing, top-notch cocktail master classes!
9. Stay somewhere crazy for one night, like a Tree House : Tree house, water bungalow, rooftop villa or a secluded cottage. The novelty of that can steam up things for you and your partner. WMG Recommends: Sleep with the fishes in underwater bedroom at the Manta Resort, Zanzibar
10. Amusement Parks MUST be visited: Pick a day and do all that you loved as a child with your partner! Fun rides, Candy Floss and lots of fun.
WMG Recommends: A day at Disneyland or maybe at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando!
11. Eat something you never usually would : Chances are high that the local delicacy of your honeymoon destination will be something that you have never eaten. You might open your mind – and your stomach – to some wonderful new flavours. A wine, or a dish or maybe even a type of cheese! WMG Recommends: Marché Provencal in Antibes, France is one of the world’s best food markets. Don’t forget to hit the Absinthe bar right across the street!
12. Get the perfect spot to watch a sunset or sunrise together: While sunsets have their charm, a sunrise can be far more exciting and interesting. At that hour, chances are you'll have the whole sun to yourself. Afterward, hightail it back to your room and order breakfast in bed and see where that leads. WMG Recommends: Belvedere Hotel at Santorini, Greece – which is incidentally one of the best spots in the world to catch a sunrise and Belvedere does a mean rooftop breakfast for you!
13. Visit locations of your favorite sitcom: Game of thrones fan? Or a Friends fanatic? Chances are, wherever you go you can find places that are special to your favorite sitcom WMG Recommends: Game of Thrones tours in Spain are pretty amazing!
14. Visit a Michelin Star Restaurant: It's nice to know how chefs are reinventing local cuisine and making it exotic. There are very few in India, and contrary to popular belief, they aren't all exorbitantly priced! WMG Recommends: Research your city and find out affordable Michelin Star Restaurants. Get a chef's menu - he might recco something awesome!
