Glam Delhi Evening Wedding With A Playful Bride!
|
|
A bride who danced to 'Banno tera swagger' on her entry with all her friends and siblings - can it get better than that? That's the candid stuff that we are talking about here at Swati and Suraj's wedding. The unique entry was even enhanced by a pale Sabya lehenga, killer heels and sparklers and sky lanterns for guests to light and make a wish for the newly wed couple. Photography by Morvi Images Photography was just amazing!
Meet Suraj & Swati
"Suraj and I met at B-School. We were batchmates at IIM Lucknow for 2 years. We met in June 2012. He was a Gujju doctor from Mumbai and I was a Rajput girl from Delhi. We spoke to each other at the most 5-6 times in those 2 years. We were always in different classes, different friend circles. On top of that I went away for student exchange to Europe for 4 months. The only common link we had was that we got jobs in the same company. We were about to graduate in March 2014 and would have gone our separate ways - he would be in Mumbai and I, in Delhi. It was in early February, a month before our graduation, he messaged me once to catch up. We met late in the night and ended up talking all night, more than we ever talked in 2 years. I moved to Mumbai to be in the same city as him. Our work didn't allow us to spend enough time with each other but we persevered through thick and thin. And that was the beginning of our forever" says Swati.

The Wedding
From The Bride:
"There were 2 things I really wanted to do at my wedding - a fun entrance which reflected my personality and a personalised corner for guests to get to know us better. I did an entry dance on the song 'Banno tera swagger' with all my friends and siblings. Since all my friends were in different countries, we managed the practice through videos. Secondly, I created a section right after the entrance with personal pictures of Suraj and myself, our friends and families. There were also sparklers and sky lanterns for guests to light and make a wish for the newly wed couple. Unfortunately, it rained like cats and dogs on the wedding and people could not experience it but my entry was smooth. Both these ideas were really close to my heart.
I wanted something dark and minimalist for the reception. Ridhi Mehra is known for such designs and I love the colours she plays with - dark greens, blues and reds. Love at first sight. For the wedding, I wanted a pastel colour lehenga to go with emerald colour jewellery. Morvi was an instant choice for me for a photographer. I had seen her work from my friend's wedding and interacted with her during the wedding functions and pre-wedding shoot. I found her to be an amazing person - someone who understands emotions, feelings and values of people" explains Swati.
"I do have some advice for brides-to-be.
- Don't drive yourself crazy about everything - I did the best planning I could but it rained on the day. But I still had the best time of my life. It's all about that moment.
- Invest in a good photographer - You will forget everything very easily and only a good photographer can bring back all the special moments to life. Decoration, makeup, food, everything looks great in pictures and videos.
- Save money from the wedding and go on a great honeymoon - I was more excited about our trip to Chile and Peru than the wedding itself. When you're doing a love marriage, the ceremony means nothing more to the relationship. But travelling with your husband to a new place will make your relationship more special." says Swati.
