For the longest time, I have seen brides to be enter our quaint store in Karol Bagh, purchase the bridal outfit of their dreams and have a happily ever after. Well, when I was a bride to be I was in a unique position- owning a bridal wear store meant having access to all the possible styles I could imagine which for some is a dream come true, but it comes with its own set of decisions. Infact, for my engagement I ended up changing my outfit just 2 days before the big day because the one I chose didn't feel right! For the wedding, however, I wanted to make sure each of my looks were different from the rest.

For the Mehendi I chose this beautiful threadwork "Sharara Cut" lehenga in lime green. The craftsmanship on this is exquisite and I chose a traditional Rajasthani "Hasli" necklace in a vivid blue to wear with it.  I always had my eye on this outfit - whenever I saw customers in our store try it on and I loved the original color it came in. Chandni gave me the prettiest plum smokey eyes as a contrast to the green outfit.

2. The Wedding Outfit

I wanted to be an antiquey, vintage bride- reminiscent of the times when our parents and grandparents got married. Instead of heavy motifs and fabrics, I wanted a dull gold color with very intricate zardozi work that stands the test of time. This outfit was in our store, and I always loved it because it was unique and different from the usual pinks and red most brides wear. While some were sceptical about it being dull, adding the ruby pink blouse and a fuschia dupatta lifted the look. I finished it with a Borla and emerald matha patti.

3. The Reception Outfit

For the reception, I chose a red and gold lehenga jacket from my store with gold jewellery.
