When we think of Udaipur, we usually think of a big fat Indian wedding, a colorful mehendi and lots of regal, vintage outfits to keep with the surroundings. This wedding however, was a contrast as an elegant white wedding set off perfectly against the rooftop of beautiful Chunda Palace as Maya and Calum tied the knot. Special mention to Candid Tales Photography for making this a visual treat!

The white wedding
From The Bride: "We knew for a long time that we wanted to get married in India. My father was Indian, and Calum and I have spent many months travelling around India. We absolutely love it and really wanted to bring our family and friends from England and Australia to see it and what a perfect opportunity to see us get married in India. We planned our Indian fairy tale wedding from Australia, and choosing vendors from so far away was quite the difficult task. Initially, we wanted to get married in Goa but when we visited the beautiful and grand Chunda Palace, Udaipur we fell in love with it instantly. We knew it was the perfect venue to get married. We loved the rooftop of the Chunda Palace I could really imagine walking down an aisle and exchanging our vows with the beautiful sunset and view of Lake Pichola in the background. In terms of the elements of the wedding, we really wanted to encapsulate a combination of an Indian and western theme. So we decided to have a pre-wedding tea party where everyone needed to dress in their best Indian outfit - everyone looked beautiful in their nicest sari etc. For the wedding day, we decided to have a western theme, with the groom in a suit and me in a beautiful white dress. The events happened exactly as I envisaged them and it truly was our dream wedding" says Maya.
