Elegant Destination Wedding Planned By The Couple Down To Every Last Detail!

|
From an office romance to running a company to planning a wedding together- this couple has done and aced it all! Maneet and Mohit have a cute love story, but what we loved about this bride and groom was how they planned their wedding down to every last detail- with recces to venues to making moodboards, DIYing decor and what not! And the end result was effortlessly elegant- they managed to pull off a beautiful 70 people destination wedding in Jaipur with elan! Loved everything about this one, especially the gorgeous mehendi photos!
Meet Maneet and Mohit
This is not your regular office romance story :)
Mohit and I met for the first time in Jan 2015 when I started my job and he was my mentor, a rather great one for that matter. We were both in very different life situations at those times and barely spoke to each other for the first one year outside of a professional capacity. A year and a half later, a work trip got us talking and one thing led to another. We found out how we were so different yet to similar! By this time we had all our friends and our boss (yes!) shipping and rooting for us! Everyone was ready, except us. We'd heard about these types of office romances going south at the speed of light - in order to avoid the unpleasantries I guess we were both in denial about our feelings for the longest time. Cut to Feb 2020, a lot of coffee and brunch dates later, we decided it's about time! 5 years of knowing this man, from a work mentor to a life mentor :) I found myself shuffling between my various Pinterest boards and contemplating if Marsala is a good color for a wedding invite and if pink lehengas are too cliché?

Wedding
From The Bride:
We got married on 25th November, 2021. A little about us, I'm the Head of Operations at Nappa Dori and my husband (feels weird saying this) is the COO! Both of us coming from design backgrounds with a strong visual aesthetic, we wanted our wedding to be highly curated, our way - minimal and sophisticated. We wanted a low key budget friendly wedding. Keeping budgets in check, a lot of wedding prep was DIY'd! Fashion designer friends executed some beautiful outfits, graphic designer friends chipped in for the invites and collateral, a childhood friend offered to photograph and so on :D
When we got roka-ed (pre-covid) we didn't think we would be one of those covid couples going through the miseries of cancellations, limited guests etc etc. But we all know how that went for everyone! Keeping regulations in mind, we decided on an intimate (70 people) destination wedding, and we loved the idea! We wanted each guest to be there for us and feel super special. Now coming to the hardest bit, the venue! We travelled all around North India for 4 months every weekend visiting properties, the hiccups - budgets were high, properties were adamant on a full buyout, view wasn't good, food didn't meet standard. It was exhausting! Finally, we stumbled upon Umaid Lake Palace in Dausa, and we loved it in a heartbeat! Everything was how we envisioned it. Most things after this were pretty smooth (except for our wedding date which got preponed by a week due to unavoidable reasons, funny). We had a very clear vision of how we wanted the outfits and themes and decor to be and troubled the decor team with our moodboards and specifications, but we enjoyed every bit of it! As much fun as the wedding was, the process was also so memorable and special for us. We picked everything ourselves, from the venue to the menu to the decor colors and draping and lights (we are fussy like that) but it was an experience in itself! All our family members (including our respective parents) only visited the venue one day prior to the celebrations so everything was in a way a big surprise for everyone.
Vendor Reviews
Venue: Umaid Lake Palace
We had gone through weeks of recee to find a property we (my fiance and me) truly loved and which checked all boxes as well, a unexpected change in plan lead us to Umaid Lake and we loved it in a heartbeat. Dhananjay & Abhijay were accommodating and prompt, they heard all our expectations and requirements and executed well in their capacity. The property is beautiful and well maintained and we, along with all our guests loved the overall experience.
Makeup Artist: Divyaa Khemnani
Divya is not just a makeup, she is above and beyond that! Like that 11pm friend every bride needs! I reached out to her for anything and everything, deciding looks, suggestions on jewellery and what not. And she advises you with much ease, comfort and patience. All my makeups and looks were just how I envisioned them to be, absolutely natural, dewy and impeccable, stayed long hours - even after the function was over. But everything kept aside the way she comforts an already anxious bride deserves a special mention. Divya and I spent hours beforehand over phone to discuss looks, she shared ideas and helped me narrow down on the hairstyle and makeup much in advance. She was always available to answer any questions and give her valuable inputs on what I should be opting for. Divya is everything one can ask for in a makeup artist and more.
Photography: Infinite Memories
Amidst an ocean of photographers, Mohit and his team were like a breath of fresh air. So fun, professional and not in our face, you almost forget you are being photographed every moment! Keeping time constraints in mind, they were super quick with everything making sure the couple shoots weren't exhausting at all. They understood the brief well and delivered above and beyond! We loved all the pictures and are very glad we went ahead with them.
