Just like you, many brides are clueless about what is happening and when will things become normal.  From being stuck indoors to having to deal with a postponed wedding, your worries could not just affect you or your family but also take a toll on your mental health. Always remember, managing your mental health is as important as managing your physical health, so we better take care of it and stay positive.

Here are 5 steps to cultivate a positive mental attitude to cope up with COVID-19:

Focus on what you can know and control

Even though this pandemic has brought our lives to a standstill, you must remind yourself about the constants in your life. Maintain a gratitude journal and list things as well as people that you are grateful for. Keep yourself positive by focusing on what you know and is in your control - maybe put a halt on wedding planning and give more time to your family and fiancé. 

Engage your support network

Don't forget your loved ones in these trying times! Ask them to check in on your often via chat or phone calls. Speak to them about how you’re feeling. Being around friends and family (virtually) may help you pass time and keep your mind off the negative thoughts. 

Eat well, stay hydrated + meditate

We're sure that the lockdown is giving you major cravings to binge-eat on junk. But, feed your body nutritious food (over comfort food) when your appetite allows, and stay hydrated. If you’re able, take deep breaths, meditate or stretch to help relax your body. These little things will not only keep you looking healthy but also mentally positive. 

Do activities you enjoy and find relaxing

Puzzles, books, cooking and gardening can help keep your mind occupied and your thoughts from ruminating. You could also pick up a new course online or check out the list of wedding-related activities to do and keep yourself busy to keep the negativity at bay. 

Make sure you’re sleeping enough

Your body needs rest in order to recover, so now isn’t the time to stay up till 3 a.m. binge watching a new show or over-thinking. Beauty sleep is more helpful than just giving you the bridal glow, after all.
