Drama-Filled Dune Wedding At Khimsar With a View To Match!

We love an offbeat location for a wedding and Khimsar seemed to be a place frozen in time, no wonder Aakritti and Manav chose it for their destination wedding over a hundred others. We cannot get over the setting of their Sangeet- getting engaged in the middle of a lagoon with hanging lightbulbs under a tree and the starry night sky. *Sigh. Photography by One Fine Day!
Meet Aakritti & Manav
"So I met Manav around 10 years back at an iDiscovery trip . We went river rafting together and soon, we became real good friends. 5 years later we dated and then got married," says Aakritti.
The Sangeet
Wedding
From The Bride:
"I always wanted a wedding at an old historical fort or palace. I have always been inspired by Bollywood and absolutely love drama. So my wedding was designed to be larger than life. It was like living a dream for those three days and I felt like a princess. Everything was absolutely beautiful!
The engagement was very dreamy and mesmerising at the dunes. We had Suryaveer and Ehsaas, the Sufi band who played for us. We exchanged our rings under a tree decorated with lights in the middle of a lagoon (not really middle but almost beside) and manav proposed to me with a beautiful poem. So it was great! On the other hand, at my Mehendi, the artist, Nidhi Kohli performed. For the reception, DJ Shadow from Dubai came down to make us dance. There was a lot of emphasis given to music at my wedding," says Aakritti.
"For the wedding we had sundown pheras. I came to the mandap in a Paalki and then path full of flowers, went back in a doli, so it was all very picturesque and dramatic as I mentioned earlier.
Everything in our wedding was very thought about hand picked and creative, at least that's what I think. But all credit goes to my mom and husband who made everything happen beautifully and without a fuss. They made sure everything was just how I would want," adds Aakritti.
