Destination Wedding In Udaipur With A 'Function Of Madness'

We love how couples are game to try something new and exciting on their weddings, and this couple here might have just come up with a cute new trend! Apart from the usual mehendi, haldi and sangeet, this couple had a 'La Folie' event, which was a function of madness, where everyone let their hair down! Now isn't that such a cute idea for a destination wedding to break the ice? Aneri and Varun's Udaipur wedding was planned to perfection by F5 Weddings★ 4.9 , and there are definitely a few ideas you can pick from this fun Udaipur wedding!

Meet Aneri and Varun

The couple met through their parents, she tells us.

Mehendi

We started off with a grand welcome for the boy’s in a Rajasthani style & a welcome dance from my family’s side. It continued to a sundowner mehendi function by the pool with a chic boho theme décor & a night full of fun & dancing.

La Folie

The next day started with a function of madness. We wanted to bring out the touch of the famous Blue Pottery of Rajasthan in a modern way. Since our function was all about madness – lots of games, guest interaction, we named it La Folie (which means madness in French) whereas the décor was blue pottery with a touch of English & elegant flowers to match the theme name.

Sangeet

The evening was our Sangeet which we called the Electric Sangeet as the theme design was in the electric zone. Our entry was a fun flashmob dance starting from our friends, leading us dancing our way into the venue on the song ‘Shaam Shandar’ to start off the function on a high note. We had fun family performances which then led into an after Party with Parleen Gill.

Haldi

The Haldi next day was a Phoolon Ki Haldi function where we entered with Punjabi Dhols doing fun boliyan’s which made every guest there get up from their seats & dance. Be it the youngsters or the oldies! This function was full of emotions for both sides while everyone applied haldi to Varun & me. We didn’t want to go with the cliché yellow & orange colors for haldi. We surely wanted yellow as it is the color of haldi but wanted to add another touch to it & so we decided to go with mint green, yellow & white as it was on a bright sunny day in a venue so beautifully designed at Aurika which would do full justice to the pastel shade color scheme we wanted to go ahead with.

Wedding

Last but not the least, our wedding. Varun wanted a traditional baraat as we were getting married at Rajasthan & Aurika as the property has such a heritage feel that going any other way wouldn’t do justice. And the pictures that are captured says it all. We were sure that we didn’t want to go the traditional way at the Wedding in terms of décor but surely wanted some Indian touch. Our planners gave us just that. My entry was as traditional as it could get. I entered with 12 banarsi pandits holding banarsi diyas in front of me, followed by me walking under the flower chaddar escorted by my parents & tonnes of fireworks going on behind. It was as surreal as it sounds. The ‘traditional touch’ that we were looking for was surely covered in the best way by our planners. Not just that, after my entry was our Varmala which when it was done, was followed by 50 cold pyros that were lit up which got every guest to be aww-struck. We also had musical pheras during our wedding which enhanced the entire function & kept it lively. While our entries were made sure to be in the traditional touch, our décor was as chic as it could get. In short, a dreamy wedding that I dreamed of was taken care of perfectly well.

From The Bride:

Our wedding took place on 28th January 2021. Both of us wanted a Royal wedding. Aurika, Udaipur and event planning by F5 weddings gave us the perfect vibe and ambience that we were looking for. All the events had beautiful decor and kept everyone engaged. Small little things like open gazebos, the huge varmalas, my entry, the colour scheme, etc just added to the entire royal experience. We could see our dream wedding turn real.
