You might not be getting a 'la-di-dah' caterer at your wedding, but that shouldn't stop you from telling your existing one to push the envelope a little. I mean, don't they say nowadays that we eat half with our eyes? These ideas are easy to execute, and super fun items that will get people talking.

  • Name your dishes as per a theme:  Why should the butter chicken at your wedding be called just a "butter chicken". You could try to add your own personal story to it "Our fourth date butter chicken", or "The first time we met pasta" . Or else do a  Bollywood theme and name all your dishes after Bollywood actors . Case in point: Big B's Butter chicken.

  • Serve Chaat Papri in Martini Glasses: Everyone serves Chaat Papri in weddings, just ask your caterer to put it into a martini glass (your bartender will already be having a ton of these to do the rounds)

  • Add a surprise in your coffee served at the feras: In the wee hours into the night, when you sit down for your feras and the caterer comes with a cup of coffee, add a little ferrero into it with a stirrer.Or better yet- put in a kit kat stick to stir the coffee. THAT is one fera ceremony we would love to sit for

  • Salad in Shot Glasses: Instead of a salad counter where everyone keeps going back in for dip, just fil shot glasses with dip halfway through and through in some carrots, cucumber and the rest. Yum, healthy and easy to handle

  • Mini beer and burgers: For a morning wedding, this would be absolutely perfect. Mini beer bottles- HOW CUTE.

  • Mini Noodles pre-wrapped in chopsticks (or forks!): Serve noodles as an appetizer, just wrap them around chopsticks and put them on a plate.

  • Have a special cocktail formulated for you and named after the two of you : Put a cocktail on the bar and a sign saying "Order a Shivani & Harsh Sangria". Finding the signature cocktail itself would be such a fun outing before the wedding as well. And its a special something everytime you make a drink at a party!
