Vintage noserings, heirloom jewellery pieces and a trousseau that's been passed down from generations- this chic winter wedding captures old world charm like no other . While we are mildly obsessed over the brides jewellery, this beautiful Anand Karaj is really the perfect way to end the week. Gorgeous, and captured in all it's glory by the effervescent Morvi Images Photography .
"We literally have the weirdest and most embarrassing story of all!! My colleague at work was hellbent on setting me up with this 'really nice guy' she knows called Nikhil Kapur and she went on for months. I always said no because I refused to be set up on this random blind date. So four to five months later at our matchmaker Aastha's birthday which was a week before Diwali, we both happened to sit together at the same cards table ( so embarrassing!!) and I guess the rest is history," explains Manat
From The Bride:
"I was extremely involved with my wedding right from the menu to decor to everyone else's clothes, the DJ, live singers, everything! To a point where while I was sitting the morning of my wedding and getting my hair and make up done I was coordinating delivery of my fathers outfit from Vasant Kunj. It was running late and I did not get off the phone till it reached, much to the annoyance of my photographer and make up artist. It was the regular big fat Indian wedding with dholki dinners starting a week earlier and people flying in from all over the world," adds Manat.
"Honestly your own wedding is such madness everything feels like such a blur , the only time I really relived my wedding and remembered things was when I saw the pictures! I wanted to keep the wedding very traditional and old school especially with my outfits. So I wore a 100 + plus year old suit for my mehendi, woven in real gold ,that's been passed down generations for years from my mum's side. That I think was the best thing for me actually coz it had so so much meaning, it was something one of my great (read many greats) grandmother wore on her wedding day. I wanted my wedding to be very regal and old school . My Nani who I was very close to passed away a few years ago and I wanted to do my wedding as she would've don't it the old school way back in the day. So my outfits were very carefully picked , some being decided just a few weeks before the big day coz I couldn't find that perfect piece, I drove my mum mad! For the wedding I was dead sure I wanted a sharara so I went to Jaipur repeatedly, driving Nidhi Tholia mad, spent days chewing her brains and designing and redesigning my wedding outfit to make it perfect. With my reception outfit the minute I saw it at Carma, I knew it was the one! This beautiful peach lehenga with chikan and badla work with just the right amount of bling was made for me.
Of all my vendors, my photographer was just out of the world. Morvi is so easy, so much fun to work with, she would listen to everything I had to say. Especially in those crazy high stress moments before the functions, Morvi was a big help. She had worked on my sister's wedding just 9 months before so Morvi was more like a part of the family rather than just our photographer. Every time I look at my pictures I feel like a princess and have the biggest smile on my face because every moment has been captured by her so well.
The biggest advice I want to give brides - Don't be hyper like me! Live in the moment, enjoy every minute and leave the planning to everyone and anyone you can find who wants to give you a hand! This time never comes back and every minute is a memory in the making so just have a good time," she says.
