There's something so beautiful about cross-cultural weddings. When the two sides come together to celebrate the union of two individuals, everything takes a backseat and only one thing takes the center stage - love! This Hindu-Jewish fusion wedding was no different. It was all heart! And boy, it was straight out of everyone's Pinterest dreams. The ceremonies took place in Scottsdale in Arizona and looked nothing less than a fairytale. Stunning landscapes, mesmerizing décor, a very much-in-love couple and some heartwarming moments - it had everything that made it absolutely magical. While all the functions looked super dreamy, the Mehendi looked a notch prettier than the rest of the events. And the bride dazzled in a beautiful tangerine lehenga, winning us over.

Meet Amita and Steve

This love story began in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy in the summer of 2019. Steve & Amita met at a mutual friends' wedding where Steve was a groomsman and Amita was a bridesmaid. They spent the night celebrating with friends and watched the sun rise over the Tuscan landscape. Despite living in different cities they kept in touch and fate ultimately bought them together as Amita’s career moved her to Chicago three months after they met. Steve and Amita have a family home in Scottsdale where they frequently visit. The endless mountain views and mesmerizing sunsets inspired their decision to get married in the desert. The couple celebrated with their loved ones for three days under the Arizona sun including both a Hindu and Jewish ceremony. Coming from vibrant cultures, they wanted to capture all the traditions and rituals that are unique to their religions. The weekend was a beautiful fusion of great food, music and LOTS of dancing including the Hora (Jewish chair dance) and Indian dances performed by their friends and family!

Vendor Reviews

Photographer: Rita Labib
Rita is incredible. I reached out to her after seeing her work on Instagram. She understood our style by taking the time to really get to know us and our story. Rita is professional, extremely talented and most importantly - personable. She made us so comfortable while shooting, gave helpful tips and great direction. We truly enjoyed spending time with her during our wedding weekend. She made a lasting impression on our family and friends as well. Rita captured the range of emotions during our wedding weekend - we felt it was out of a dream.
Wedding Planning: Bloom & Blueprint
We worked with Bloom and Blueprint specifically, Erika Gammage, for design and wedding planning. We went with the full planning package and they took care of everything from coordinating with all vendors, presenting creative design options, florals and day-of agenda. Erika listened to our vision for each event and she delivered a beautiful product. Our wedding was seamless and she was great in dealing with any and all issues. She also delivered the small items that we added at the last minute. Lastly, the floral which they do in-house was absolutely stunning. We highly recommend B+B!
Bridal Mehendi: Nav Kaur
Cannot say enough about my bridal Mehendi. Nav is a talented artist who worked with me to customize my mehndi design. Her designs are intricate, clean and stain beautifully. She's personable and fun to be around which makes the time go by so quickly!
