It's kind of a small thing that you don't think about too much, but where you place the dupatta on your head definitely makes a huge difference to how your face looks. Depending on your face type, you might want to try these out.
  • At the back, placed softly on top of the bun

Works especially well for those with smaller faces who can get overwhelmed with the large borders around your dupatta. Also works for round or  wide faces which can get overwhelmed with the dupatta. This style involves draping the dupatta over your bun at the back so that the front of your face is pretty much open and clear without the dupatta framing the side. This is also the best way to wear your dupatta if you have really pretty earrings you wold want to show, or a soft bun, with a bounce in the front which would otherwise flatten out the hair. Works for: Small faces, round and wide faces

  • Framing the Face

The most typical way to wear a bridal dupatta, this is when you drape it at the center of your head, with it flowing down both sides. If you are planning to have hair that is not very fancy in the front, or if you have an oval face where the dupatta looks great framing your face, this is a good way to wear it. Works for: Long faces

  • Half in front, Half at the back

Think how Pakistani brides drape their dupatta, they place it somewhere around the center or back, one of the sides drape loosely in front, and one drape at the back. It gives a regal, elegant look and a very Nizami feel. Especially works if your dupatta edging is scalloped and flatters all face shapes and sizes Works for: Most face types, Dupattas with scalloped edges.

  • Veils

These work best with two dupattas. One sheer lightweight one, coming down the front of your face as a veil, and a second one worn normally. If a vintage vibe is what you are going for then there is nothing like a veil to add that charm and grace to your look. Works for: Brides going for a vintage vibe
