Breathtaking North-South Wedding In Delhi With The Most Fun Kickstarter Event!
|

There is something about this wedding which is so wholesome and beautiful. Of course, it helps to have fabulous decor and beautiful outfits and jewellery, but this wedding is beautiful beyond what meets the eye. Malvika and Armaan's '2 States' wedding in Delhi was full of cute little ideas, personalisation and an immaculate blend of North-South traditions. But the best part of the wedding was perhaps the kickstarter event- a combination of an engagement + Baraat + cocktail, which looked like a ton of fun! Loved how the bride, who happens to be a choreographer, styled herself, and her groom who complemented her to perfection! Now here is a wedding planned by Knot & Celebrate you just wouldn't want to miss.
Meet Malvika and Armaan
We met at a bar in San Francisco, where I approached Armaan and started a conversation, and the rest is history. We had an instant connection and spoke for hours and hours that day and never spent a week apart.
Mehendi
Engagement
For our first event, we had an evening baraat followed by a small ring exchange ceremony and a cocktail event in a grand ballroom at the venue. The decor was moroccan-inspired in jewel tones and we had a bunch of stalls set up like a bazaar, with caricature artists, mehendi artists, and bangles. We wanted the event to be a lively and fun start to the festivities full of surprises and personal touches. I surprised the baraat with a dance performance halfway through and my family and I joined the rest of the baraat dancing and singing together with Armaan’s family, which was a beautiful union of laughter and fun for both of us. The highlight of the night was when the groom surprised everyone by doing a beautiful live band performance with his friends, singing a Tamil song for the bride as well as a bunch of crowd favorites like I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys.
Tamil Wedding
The next morning we had an intimate and traditional Tamil wedding. The decor was pastel pinks, purples, and whites, with tons of greenery to give it a romantic and natural feel. The mandap was under a beautiful peepal tree with strands of flowers hanging from it, adding to the beauty of the event.
Sangeet & Reception
Our last event was a Sangeet & Reception in angelic all-white decor. We entered with a flashmob entrance with all of our friends that the bride choreographed. After a quick toast the dance performances began! I choreographed a special solo dance for the groom that encompassed all of the styles of dance I fell in love with in my dance journey. After the performances and some heartfelt speeches from our closest friends, we danced the night away until the sunrise surrounded by our closest friends and family. We couldn’t have asked for a better finale to a wonderful few days with our loved ones.
From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on March 1, 2024. We wanted to bring a beautiful fusion of both Tamil and Punjabi cultures for the most unique, fun, and unforgettable wedding for our family and friends. We really wanted our guests to feel transported to a different vibe for each event. I’m a professional dancer and Armaan is a musician and it was really important to us to incorporate our love for music, dance, and each other at each event through personalized touches.
Vendor Reviews
Park Boulevard Hotel, New Delhi
Park Boulevard is a lovely wedding venue. It has one of the most beautiful ballrooms as well as a gorgeous glass house and multiple outdoor areas. There are so many different areas you can utilize for different events to give each a fresh feel. The catering at the venue is absolutely spectacular. Chef Rama and his team make amazing food and can make any cuisine well. The food was beyond amazing and very memorable for us and our guests.
Makeup Artist: Shruti Chopra
Shruti is a fabulous makeup artist. I gave her a few ideas of what I liked and let her take it from there. She did an amazing job making me look and feel beautiful and I got so many compliments on my makeup. I’m so happy I chose her as a makeup artist and I would highly recommend her to anybody. It was also so nice to get to know her and hear about how she got into this work and how passionate she is about what she does. She truly cares about her work and as a bride, you’re in great hands with Shruti!
Wedding Planning: Knot & Celebrate
Komal and Kanika from the K&C team did everything to make the most important days of our life special. They went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. As we were living in the U.S. and planning a wedding in India, this meant a lot of early morning and late night calls for us and them, and they were very accommodating and always available no matter what. They went above and beyond as planners in every way, even helping with things that are not usually done by the planner. They had lots of great ideas to help make the wedding more personal and no was not in their vocabulary – whatever idea we had they would find a way to make it happen. We are so grateful for everything they did for us to make our wedding the best days of our lives.
Photography: Weddingrams
I can’t recommend Weddingrams enough as a photographer and videographer. I didn’t realize it before, but getting an amazing videographer and photographer may be one of the most important vendors you choose. The days of your wedding go by in such a blur, and the best memories of those days are the ones captured by the videos and photos. Weddingrams did an amazing job capturing our wedding. They made us feel so comfortable and they cared to get to know us personally so that they could capture a story true to us as a couple. I’m so grateful we chose them as a vendor because they have done an amazing job and I will look back on these videos forever.
Decor: Aayna Events
Rubal from Aayna Events did a great job with the decor. She listened to each theme and vision we had in mind and executed it. She is very quick to understand the vision and event feel that the couple wants and bring it to life. Her finishing is excellent and we are still getting compliments about the decor.
Live Stream Vendor: Live Team Delhi
The livestream vendor did a phenomenal job. They captured the wedding very well and with very high quality. The camera work was very good and anybody who was not there was able to feel as if they were there in-person experiencing it.
