If there is one thing that comes to mind when we think of Anamika Khanna, its 'elusive'. While we continue to drool over her creations donned  by Sonam Kapoor, in Delhi her collections have been hard to come by and judging by the number of "Where is Anamika in delhi" emails we get, we know you think the same. So we were ecstatic when Ensemble had a showcase of her collection recently and they did not dissapoint! Apart from the exquisite detailing which is signature of Anamika, what stood out was the contemporary silhouettes and how easily these seperates could be mixed and matched. We wish they had some of her heavier, bridal pieces as well because those are even harder to spot in stores but for now find our signature 'heart sign' on our favourites

The preview

Favourite piece of the collection on the left: draped gown with cape in a champagne pink. Stunner. Wear it: On your sisters cocktail night This metallic jacket with cape was a great seperate to team with a lehenga skirt, pants of even over a sari. Wear it: For any event. Dress it up for your friends wedding or wear it with pants for a formal dinner This embroidered jacket in blush had the most exquisite detailing Wear it: Would be a great mom of the bride outfit on the sangeet. Chaand baalis, smokey eyes and she is set Black anarkali on the right- total trousseau essential. Thats an outfit you can wear no matter how old/ young you are. It never goes out of style. Anamika’s collection showcases the use of Indian crafts with an experimental twist. The colour palette is in her traditional style: ivories and blacks, with deep reds, pastel pink and fresh floral prints and colour thrown - for ethereal looks. Reviving various embroidery techniques such as zardosi, jackets, capelets, dhoti pants, the zipper kurta which can be worn as separates or team up with saris, dresses - curating different looks according to the occasion. Fabrics are mainly light and often diaphanous - chiffon, crushed silk, net, adding a sense of romance to this contemporary baroque line. And her stand-out technique is the use of appliqué that resembled flower petals.
