Weddings are experiences that are out of this world - true that! That's why our big wedding this week is an interesting one peppered by royalty in Udaipur and it's all kinds of awesome. The big wedding was at the Ananta Resorts in Udaipur and was planned with great entertainment and decor in tow by Wedding Planners, Momente Wedding Planners★ 5  while photographer Mayur Teckchandani kept things easy and effortless. The star was obviously the decor - stunning flower work with gota decor that really had us at hello.

From The Planners:

Mohit and Aditi’s wedding at was an affair full of glamour and glitz. The couple had envisioned their wedding festivities to be full of energy and loads of activities for guests to be a part of.  Consequently the entertainment line-up over the 3 days of festivities offered just this.

As a prelude to the next few days, the cocktail night was a dazzling evening of champagne, international artists and a spectacular performance by none other than the king of Rap – Badshaah. Rani Pink, the decor people did an outstanding job transforming the entire venue into a glitzy club with tasseled silver candelabras, a ceiling full of silver sparkles blending in with the white floral and crystal Chiavari chairs. Bollywood numbers belted out by the 12-piece-symphony band welcomed guests as they moved around the venue admiring the glamorous champagne tower and the LED stilt walking butterflies. Various tricks performed by the Nitrogen Bar girls and the Strolling Champagne Princess kept the guests entertained through the evening. The couple made a dazzling entry with LED drummers followed with serenading by floating angels.

The Mehendi afternoon was vibrant and lively with lot of pinks, gota ribbons and mirrors giving a very kitsch Rajasthani mela vibe. White tables and sofas with bright pink cushions and gaddas added pops of colour to the lush green gardens. A beautiful white and pink floral swing looked splendid against a contrasting silver mirrored backdrop. Pop up stalls with Parrot astrologers, live pottery making and block printing, mehendi artists and a tempting array of chat counters kept the guests occupied. A trio of folk singers moved amidst the guests offering chana jor as they sang Bollywood classics to the guests. The couple walked in amidst beautiful clouds of colours as their friends formed an aisle holding smoke bombs and welcoming them. A group of dancers beautifully depicted Radha Krishna’s “Raas Leela” scene followed by “Phoolon Ki Holi” where the guests threw flower petals on each other. The popular acapella group “Raga Trippin” belted out some amazing renditions of Bollywood classics.

The Sangeet unfolded with a beautiful evening under the stars. The entire venue looked ethereal with deep blues and red fabrics accentuated with deep red tinted chandeliers placed around the venue. A dreamy patchwork ceiling of stunning floral chandeliers alternating with ferry lights looked spectacular as guests sat under the starry canopy and enjoyed the scrumptious buffet. An aerial silk act & a visual light show added to the magical ambiance of the evening. The night rose to a crescendo with the performances of the energetic duo of Salim-Suleiman followed by the vivacious Janki Parikh.

Mohit’s Baraat procession was probably the most entertaining baraat of the season with an interesting blend of east meets west. Local dhol, nagada and tutari players played alongside a foreign brass band trio, all complimented perfectly by a mobile DJ van. He arrived in a decorated horse-drawn Victorian carriage while Aditi came seated in a palki, escorted by Shankh Pandits for the varmala. The varmala was a spectacular affair with a rose petal shower blessing the couple as they exchanged garlands. The wedding ceremony took place in the amphitheatre with a beautiful mandap decorated with rose-tipped mogra hangings and kalira chandeliers on the ceiling and Nandi prints on the backdrop. Red gaddas and cushions were placed for guest seating along the amphitheatre. The bride entered the mandap accompanied to the tunes of the famous flautist Baljinder Singh.

The Reception area was decked up with a white canopy decorated with white malmal pankhis and crystal chandeliers. White tables with crystal candelabras and gold Chiavari chairs were laid out under the canopy. The energetic performance of Bryden and Parth coupled with the ever so graceful Sufi Swirlers, and Tanoura dancers added an enigmatic charm to the event.
