What happened Jamnagar between March 1st-3rd 2024 was unprecedented!
Rihanna came down to India for the first time, and not for a concert- for an exclusive performance- just something she charges around $8 million for (reportedly)! And who else but the richest family in the world who can do that! The Ambanis organised a 3-day pre wedding celebration for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant between March 1-3 in Jamnagar, it had some of the biggest names from all over the world in attendance.
Not only was anybody who is somebody in Bollywood in attendance, but there bigger global names flew down to Jamnagar to be a part of this grand celebration, which reportedly had over 2000 guests. Apart from Riri, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai and even Ivanka Trump came down as did politicians and royalty from all over the world. From sporting legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Dhoni to Bollywood legends like all the Khans- who except for the Ambanis can make them share a stage! Here are the main highlights from the events that took place!
Day 1: An Evening In Everland
The guests all arrived the previous day or the morning of March 1st. While they were at leisure to go around the Vantara facilities, in the evening they were in for a treat! Rihanna performed exclusively for the guests, and everyone turned up in their finest cocktail attire.
Day 2, Morning: A Walk on the Wildside
The next morning had 'A Walk On The Wildside' where guests visited Vantara, the Ambanis’ animal rescue and rehabilitation centre in Jamnagar. Making this trip fun and quirky in terms of style, the guests along with the hosts followed the dress code ‘Jungle Fever’. From animal prints to colourful palettes, every silhouette celebrated comfort and chic style, which is very evident in the photos! The decor, styled by Manish Malhotra and designed by Devika Narain was stunning for the theme too!
Day 2, Evening: Mela Rouge
Day 2 saw the 'Mela Rouge', which gave us total Sangeet vibes! Diljit Dosanjh lit the house on fire with his energetic performance, and everyone seemed to be having a ball of a time. Not just that, almost every Bollywood celeb performed in some way or the other- and the videos are insane!
The decor for Mela Rouge exuded glam and luxury- apt for an event of that scale!
Day 3: Hashtakshar
Now this was the final event which gave us temple wedding vibes! The guests all turned up in their best Indian attires, and the atmosphere was very different from the other festivities. A female version of 'Shava Shava' was played during Radhika's entry and she performed Dekha Tujhe Pehli Pehli Baar Ve part of the song as she walked towards Anant Ambani as the family looked on, teary-eyed.
The ceremony itself was something new and unique. They couple isn't married yet, but they signed off on their commitment to each other.
Following the event, maha aarti was performed and dinner was served to the guests. Artists including Pritam, Shreya Ghoshal, Udit Narayan, Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Arijit Singh, Neeti Mohan, and Lucky Ali performed later in the night. Global icon Akon too set the stage on fire.

And while this is not the wedding, it is pretty elaborate. The jungle-themed invite for the festivities went viral sometime back, along with a nine-page event guide and wardrobe planner. Yep, it included a detailed visual mood board which was sent to guests offering an overview of what to expect at the Jamnagar celebration!
The second Ambani scion Anant Ambani is all set to get married to Radhika Merchant in July 2024, but oh boy, does this wedding promise to be not just larger than life, but an absolute extravaganza! So we are sure the wedding will be nothing like anyone has ever seen before! After all, Isha Ambani's 7 billion rupee wedding in 2018 still remains as the most expensive Indian wedding of all time!
