When we first saw Nikita's mehendi pictures, we were bowled over. Dressed in an elegant mirror work lehenga in bright colours, Nikita was a vision! Her pictures were happy, and exuded a cheerful vibe. Even her bridal lehenga, a traditional pink, was a sight to behold. Nikita's bridal portraits, clicked effortlessly by Valeriya, were gorgeous. Shot in Dubai, this was a minimalist wedding with elements worth bookmarking.
Meet Nikita & Avinash
When it's meant to be, it's meant to be, right? Nikita met Avinash on a dating app, and from the very first date, they knew they had something special. Nikita writes, "We met on Bumble in Dubai :) I just moved to Dubai and was looking to date someone. He was the first guy I matched with and our first date lasted 5 hours!"
The Mehendi
The Wedding
From The Bride:
Avi and I wanted a super intimate wedding. Although my parents didn’t agree, we were adamant on keeping our guests limited to family only. We didn’t want to go through the entire process of organizing a big fat Indian wedding because well, none of us wanted it! We wanted to enjoy each other’s company, and keep it really simple. So that’s exactly what we did! We had a sunset Mehendi with a few dances (kept this super short before it turned into India’s got Talent?) and then a First look photoshoot followed by Sunset Pheras by the sea (for me, it was super important to have daylight photos ?).
Vendor Reviews:
Venue: Mehendi - Vida Emirates Hills, Wedding - Park Hyatt Dubai
These were the best venues, with the best views and best staff! I’d recommend this for outdoor venues.
Makeup Artist: Armita Merchant
A Dubai based make up artist. She listened to everything I wanted, and made sure I looked like myself :)
Photographer: Effleurer Photo
Her name is Valeriya and you can find her page on Instagram: @effleurerphoto! She was the best and over delivered! This was actually her first time taking photos of an Indian Wedding. Which is exactly what I wanted - a fresh perspective with an editorial twist.
