When it's meant to be, it's meant to be, right? Well, it definitely was the case in Riti & Amrit's wedding celebrations! They had a grand roka a couple of months ago where Riti wore a gorgeous bottle green lehenga and their wedding date was 31st May and they did not let coronavirus postpone it. They got married in the most intimate manner, at Riti's home. The couple invited only 30 people, with others attending the wedding virtually. The bride's mother designed outfits for both the bride and the groom while Riti herself conceptualised the decor at the house. It was a celebration of true love, with the closest of friends and family, and was captured beautifully by Dipak Studios★ 4.8 !

Meet Riti & Amrit

Both ended up swiping right for each other on bumble by chance. We ended up knowing a lot of common people. Both of us are boarding school kids. He (Amrit) went to the Doon school in Dehradun and I went to CJM Waverley in Mussoorie. One thing led to another. And a year later we’re married.

The Wedding

From The Bride:

So, our date was 31st may. We didn’t see any need for postponing the wedding as there is actually no surety of when this pandemic is ending. Also, we couldn’t wait to start our lives together. Initially it was a little difficult to plan such an intimate affair, as we couldn’t call our extended families and friends. But, it was a a perfect wedding. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. There was absolutely nothing missing. Only our very close ones were present (around 30 people) . The wedding happened in my living room in New Friends Colony. - every thing was done at home, from the decoration to the bride and groom’s outfits. My mother is a fashion designer and she made both our outfits which was such a task in the lockdown. The food was made at home! The whole wedding was screened on zoom for our friends and families who are placed all over the world. They all dressed up and attended our lava feras. All the family members who were away had prepared beautiful dances and videos and they were all compiled by my brother and played at the wedding as a surprise for me and my husband. I’m not kidding this was just the most special wedding. Every one had so much fun. And I had always thought I’d have a big Bollywood wedding. This was exactly what we wanted. Cute. Intimate and full of love and laughter. Also, we could maintain all the social distancing norms and every ones safety. Every one from both the sides was very very supportive of our decision to get married during the lockdown. All the elders of the families encouraged us to go ahead and gave us their blessings. We were the wedding planners and decorators. I’m a graphic designer so managed the invites and the decor. Luckily we got our neighbourhood flower wala to decorate the house and it just looked stunning. I did my make up my self. And my best friend did my hair. And I looked perfect. My mother designed our outfits. If she didn’t do this we’d probably be getting married in jeans. Lol! Who would have thought that a small intimate wedding would be every thing we’d want. Specially being Punjabis. But it was our perfect fairy tale wedding from my living room. At the end of the end of the day you just have to find the perfect partner for your self and all these material things don’t matter. We both feel super blessed and couldn’t have asked for more. Like even if this wasn’t a lockdown wedding it would have been perfect. The only thing missing was our friends and family who couldn’t make it due to the lockdown.
