A Dreamy Home Wedding With The Most Magical Vibe

“In you, I found home”
Oh, this one is truly special! Seldom do we see weddings that are so beautiful without being over-elaborate or lavish- when it's more about the love than anything else that's superficial. Here is a wedding which is wholesome and full of love, and yes, you wouldn't believe it happened at home when you see it! The bride and the groom prepped and preened their garden for months for the gorgeous setups and mandap, and all the hard work and effort definitely shows!
Also in love with the bride Malvika's minimal yet elegant bridal look- natural and minimalistic with help from Anjie Gogna Makeup . Love how the photos pop! Take a look at this heartwarming home wedding from Ambala that definitely has made it to one of our list of favourites already.
Meet Malvika and Rishabh
Rishabh and I have known each other since probably as far back as play school. My dad was a consulting surgeon for Rishabh's mom when he was born and that's how they became friends! So we've grown up knowing each other, having the same circle of friends, attending birthday parties. However, love happened much later. I guess at times you don't see things that are sitting right in front of you. Rishabh and I started dating after we both completed college. We lost touch in the middle and reconnected on a winter break when we were both back in our hometown in Ambala. We eventually started dating and after a patch of long distance, living together and long distance again, we decided to get married.
Mehendi
For the Mehendi, I was looking at an easy sundowner vibe where the idea was to just have a lot of fun with our closest people, which is why I ended up going for a mehendi that took 30 minutes to apply!
Haldi
Our haldi was a morning event where we skipped the whole yellow route with our decor and went multicolour instead with a mix of flowers and all guests dressed in white.
Sangeet
While the mehendi and haldi happened at my house, the cocktail and wedding were at Rishabh's house. For the cocktail we kept things simple with a lot of play of lights and red roses.
Wedding
The wedding was a traditional sundowner event, a smaller intimate setting with our closest people that we have grown up with. We actually worked on his gardens for months to get them ready for the wedding. While usually venues come equipped and ready to be decorated, what was exciting was that we got a chance to work on our gardens from scratch. As the sun set, we took our pheras under a tree that came alive with flowers and chandeliers.
From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on 20th November 2022. One thing that we were very sure of the day we started planning our wedding was that we wanted to have all our celebrations at home. Being from the same town, with so many common friends, the whole idea just made sense. We wanted everything to feel intimate and homely which is why we skipped the whole wedding planner route, going the old school way where all family members were assigned tasks. Rishabh (who was in Toronto) and I (in Delhi) remotely, with the immense help of our families, planned the wedding at our homes in Ambala.

Vendor Reviews
Makeup Artist: Anjie Gogna
Anjie was so so easy and amazing to work with. She was open to all thoughts and ideas that I had and what I felt worked for me. The make-up was light and easy and felt like second skin, which is honestly the best thing that could happen.

Divyam and Ikron are the sweetest, kindest people to work with. It was so fun having them and their teams around. By the end of the process, they became like family. And we were so happy with the final result. Everyone loved the photos and the video left us all with happy tears.
Decor: Modgill Tent and Decorators
We were blessed with someone as easy and amazing as Manish ji. There was no one else who could have brought our ideas and thoughts to life the way he did. From exceptional quality of material to sourcing everything we asked for, he left no stone unturned. I don't think there was a single thing that we asked him for that he said no to. Planning decor at home is no easy task specially with back-to-back events but they managed every single thing so seamlessly.
Bridal Outfits
Mehendi: Tota Maina. For the mehendi I wanted something easy to manage and something I could dance in. And they nailed the look completely. Its an outfit I know I will keep going back to always.
Cocktail: Sunaina Khera. The first lehenga I tried on was the one I fell in love with. They customised it in a red for me and it was so light and breezy and something I could dance in all night.
Wedding: Raw Mango. I went a more traditional route with a lehenga from Raw Mango, a brand that I cannot get enough of. The weave that I picked was originally in a sharara that they custom made in a lehenga for me with two beautiful hand embroidered dupattas. With each of my bridal outfits, the idea was to pick pieces that I do not dump after the wedding and can re-wear for years and years to come.
Groomwear:
Mehendi: Tota Maina. Rishabh's mehendi outfit was also made by Tota Maina to perfectly match my outfit. He gave the outfit his own twist pairing it with sneakers.
Wedding: Divyam Mehta. He picked his sherwani from Divyam Mehta that was tailored beautifully and fit him so perfectly.
