Covid has taught us the value of intimate celebrations and has given loads of inspiration in terms of how to plan one! Bhakti & Raunak's intimate roka during lockdown was just one of those celebrations. They DIYed their entire decor in the backyard of Bhakti's home and it was beautiful. Also, clad in a beautiful pastel lehenga with an off-shoulder blouse, Bhakti looked ethereal while Raunak's floral kurta was an instant hit. All in all, this backyard roka gave us tons of idea to pin it to our moodboards!

Meet Bhakti & Raunak

The Roka

From The Bride:

Our Roka was during a lockdown and we were very upset we were not able to celebrate with our loved ones. it was also very last minute and many vendors were not working. We spontaneously planned a backyard roka and our entire backdrop set up was a DIY project which we built together over the weekend with the help of few family members. Since he knew how big I am on decor and aesthetics. We were exhausted by the end of our ceremony and ended up at a local coffee shop as exploring local coffee shops and going on coffee dates no matter where we are have been our favorite thing to do since we met. so instead of doing a planned photoshoot we just took pictures at our favorite local coffee shop in the city. Living in US it is hard to find vendors for an indian ceremony and I also wanted to support all local (go vocal for local) vendors and chose all the local vendors in Sacramento for the ceremony to help one another grow.

Vendor Reviews:

Makeup Artist: Glo Gulabo
I never ended up doing a trial with her. I chose her as she was local and upcoming and I wanted someone who could do more natural and subtle makeup. I did not even plan my look or discuss. she looked at my outfit and did my look! she has a great eye for colors and is able to recognize what would suit your face. She was great with her time and the makeup felt so light till the end of the day.

Photographer: Soul Like The Sun
Rebecca has great aesthetic. she has never done an indian shoot before but she was able to capture some great moments and really sailed with the vibe. she was as spontaneous about our shoot as we were. Super friendly and loved her energy to just be in the moment and shoot without any pre planning or inspiration pictures.

Bridal Outfit: House Of Oomphabian
Oomphabian has an ethincity with a contemporary twist. It is known to be a "modern indian" clothing brand which is really seen in their collection. Their handcrafted pieces have great fit and quality work.

Mehendi Artist: Henna By Navya
She is very accommodating, makes fresh henna with organic essential oils which makes you relax while getting your mehendi done.

Groom Wear: Project Bandi
They had great communication and were able to do a custom order in less than 10 days. amazing customer service
