A Delhi wedding with an 'Office'-ial love story
|
|
There aren't enough brides with braids we say. Braids with fuschia pink parandis to match their lehengas- well that's even rarer . But we found both in this relatable Delhi wedding shot by the super talented Fotografia9 and with makeup by the ever lovely Chandni Singh .
Meet Prerna and Abhineet
Prerna recounts "Post my MBA I joined a media company and there is where I met Abhineet. Abhineet was already working there & I thought he was truly a nerd , all by himself and a total workaholic. With similar tastes in music and similar interests like movies, we became best of friends. We would chat, discuss office gossip and just hand out together. A year and half later Abhineet proposed & I was not too sure, so he chased me for about 8 months and then is when I said a YES! Few months later we realized that we wanted to be together forever, and then told our families to take this further"
The Mehendi
That Mehendi on the foot is gorgeous. Also love the jhoomer! The half dhoti silhouette ending above the knee for mehendi is an interesting choice as well.
The wedding
From the bride: We wanted things to be traditional and classic. For my mehendi, which was a close family affair we just called live punjabi singers and just sat around and chilled. Honestly, the aim was to get wasted (hic!) . My outfit for this was done by Purple Elephant which is run by my aunt in Lado Sarai.
Our Wedding had a blue and white theme and my lehenga which I had found from Karol Bagh (full vendor details below) fit right into that theme. Its unusual for a bride to wear blue, but I thought this lehenga was perfect - I didn't want to wear something heavy so light gota patti work which still looked regal was perfect. I don't believe in spending lakhs on my wedding outfit so when I spotted this I knew it was perfect. Abhineet arrived in a vintage car and we wanted things to be really classic. We had pheras in the start followed by the reception
We happened to book Fotografia9 by chance. Our previous booked photographers ditched us last minute due to some family issues at their end. They then recommended us to fotografia9 who we decided to meet. On meeting them, we got really great positive vibes and also loved their work. They have been part of our family through out all the celebrations and the comfort level they had is evident in the photos.
