There is this vintage, rustic element to this wedding that just makes you want to come back to it, again and again. Maybe its the timeless, elegant sharara worn by the bride to her gurudwara wedding,  maybe its the black and white portrait on the Nikah ceremony, maybe its the minimalistic Indian decor at the gorgeous venue (one which I  hadn't heard of before !!!) - but they all come together to tell a beautiful story- shot by Naina Redhu !

Meet Jeevan & Saify

She is Sikh, he is  Muslim and they are the lucky ones to have two ceremonies -a Nikah and a Gurudwara wedding. This love story started at work all the way in Bangalore as they worked for the same company.

There is nothing prettier than a few simple flowers strewn about near a water body

Love the stunning bronze rose detailing . So elegant and timeless

The Nikah

From the bride: Our vision for the wedding was very traditional, only flowers, candles and Shamianas were used for decoration. We didn’t want to have a stage for ourselves at the reception; we wanted to be with the guests. I think that worked really well and we got to spend time with our family friends. We wanted everything to be very simple yet classy.  For Nikah and reception – we had khansama (cooks) from Lucknow for the traditional food. We had all our functions at The Woods in Gurgaon, I was unaware of its existence and most of the people were. One of my friends suggested this place while I was searching for venues. It was a lovely discovery, the venue was spectacular with lawns for reception, pool side for the mehndi, perfect hall opening open to the pool and the lawns for Nikah. When we went to see the venue, the moment we reached we were sold. Food & hospitality were excellent, this venue offered all the facilities of the hotel and yet was very private, personal and exclusive. Anand Karaj at DLF Phase I Gurudwara, again something I had only seen in my dreams.  For my outfits, I wanted combinations of off white and red for Gurudwara wedding, traditional red sharara for the Nikah. Sahil designed the outfits just like I had always seen them in my dreams. Sahil designed Sherwani’s for Saify for each function too. He  is a great designer, a very dear friend and was handling design for Rohit Bal before starting his own label.  I think all the brides should really enjoy the wedding preps and not stress too much. Brides take too much stress planning the wedding and they sometimes miss out on the fun. One can totally do without the stress if they hire the right people to help them.
