So many little things in this wedding which made us sit up and take notice. First, the Punjabi and South-Indian couple brought out a daily newspaper for their destination wedding guests called - The Daily Vow. Apart from that- we spotted a 'Tippy Tippy Tap'- a mehendi lehenga that we are crushing on (it had butterflies embroidered on it), sunset views and oodles of fun. Photography by Shades Photography made sure the emotions were captured beautifully, the planners atTwo Fat Ladies ensured everything went off without a hitch at the Royal Orchid Beach Resort and Spa, Goa where all of the drama took place was as sweet as they come.
Meet Radhika & Sandip
"Sandip and I met at our MBA College, it was a typical two states story- he is South Indian, I’m Punjabi. Our ideas about a wedding, like every other thing in the world, were quite contrasting. I had always dreamt of a function-loaded big fat Punjabi wedding whereas Sandip had always experience a quiet 10 minute ceremony without any frills. So we obviously decided on the Big Fat Punjabi wedding ☺" explains Radhika.
The Wedding
From The Bride:
"We wanted Goa as the wedding destination as it was very special to our Love story. Since we went to college together, we had way too many mutual friends; in fact about 40% of the guest list was only our friends!
Everyone who checked-into the resort received a copy of newspaper printed by the name “The Daily Vow”. It had our Love story, along with the wedding itinerary, the map of the place with venues for each ceremony. All the guests got super excited by the reading it and found it extremely convenient. We had a theme for every ceremony, my favourite being the Sangeet ceremony where we had Bombay velvet theme and everyone was dapper drunk! We had a beautiful beach wedding with minimal décor and beautiful beach weather" says Radhika.
"One advice I would give to all brides, I spent 11 months planning this wedding, from décor to choreography sessions, outfits, background music, Food Menu, Printable, the smallest of details. And I realised in the end, it’s none of these trivial details which matter; it’s your family and friends that make your wedding. Seeing them so happy in your happiness, crying with you, dancing with you and taking up work like it’s the most important day of their lives as well truly makes it memorable. My wedding was the best day of my life because all the people who made me feel so special. So whenever you would reach that point where you have to start planning your wedding, don’t stress yourself about the smallest of things, involve your loved ones, take care of their needs and all will fall into place" adds Radhika.
