A Close Knit Chandigarh Engagement : Yasmeen & Sidak

You know how some girls can wear a sack and still end up looking graceful and elegant. Lady Diana was one, Madhuri Dixit is another, and I suspect our Bride Yasmeen is a third. (Not to say she wore a sack- she wore a pretty, vintage sharara but one look at these photos and you will know what I mean). Shot beautifully by Payals All Things Nice Photography (who by the way Yasmeen flew down all the way from Mumbai to Chandigarh to capture her event) and who has managed to capture the old world, vintage charm about this event. You see, that is why she is on our handpicked Vendor Guide! Her work is truly amazing !!

Meet Yasmeen & Sidhak

Yasmeen first met Sidak at a friend’s dinner in Chandigarh, where all they ever exchanged the entire night was a hi and smile. As destiny had it planned they met again in Delhi within 3 days.  Yasmeen says "We were both there for different reasons. I,because i had missed my flight and he because he had come to see his friends , we met again, began talking for the first time, and we never stopped. There was just so much honesty and respect that everything seemed so right and the inevitable happened.  I just feel no one understands me better then him., He makes everything so easy and worth it. And i look forward to spending my life with him.  He proposed to me in Shimla, with the cutest Swarovski ring ever <3
Yasmeen, Congratulations on the engagement ! Tell us all about it !
Engagement was a lot of fun, it was a great night with a lot of music & dancing. it was a very close knit function, we had all our friends and family under one roof, so that made it super special. While we didnt have any 'performances' or practiced dances we were forced into dancing anyway. We danced on 'Tum Hi ho' where all I did was smile and blush!

So your outfit was all the way from Pakistan I hear..
Its a customary thing this side, that the in-laws send the outfit for the bride on her engagement, but i knew i wanted to wear this beautiful lehenga lying in my wardrobe , not only because it was gorgeous but also because it is so close to my heart , as my dad had bought it from Pakistan a few years ago and i knew it would look super nice and bright. So i told Sidak and he happily agreed. I still had to refurbish it a little, i got a plain silk blouse stitched with it. And with the overall result i was pretty pleased. it had a very regal feel to it, and blended beautifully with the jewellery.

Major drool moment happening with all your jewellery Yasmeen! Love your tikka. So gorgeous!
Thank you so much ! As a customary thing, it was bought by my mother in law, it was a complete surprise for me but i fell in love the moment i saw it. it was bought from Patiala from their family jewellers.
