There were two things we all sort of knew before Katrina Kaif's wedding- 1. She would look gorgeous no matter what she wore, and 2. She would most probably pick Sabyasachi like all the other Bollywood brides too. Both the things did turn out to be true, and while Katrina would look gorgeous even in a sack, we wouldn't be honest if we didn't say we were a little disappointed with her wedding day look. Don't get us wrong, it was stunning, just a wee bit predictable and expected, with her choosing to be the typical bride in red and gold instead of setting a new bridal trend, especially given the fact that it was a fusion wedding. But it's her big day, and if she wants to be a traditional bride, then she damn well gets to be one! Here's a breakdown of all her bridal looks function-wise, with all the deets and our two cents on it too!

Engagement

Easily our most favourite look from her entire wedding, this one had us floored!

Saree: Katrina paid tribute to her mother’s British heritage during the engagement. This vintage-inspired couture sari with a trailing veil by Sabyasachi was silhouetted like a white wedding gown. The pastel tulle sari was embellished with hand-cut English flowers, embroidered by craftswomen from Bengal, and liberally sprinkled with semi-precious gems and crystals. The ensemble took 40 artisans over 1800 hours to handcraft!

Jewellery: The sari was paired with a statement uncut diamond choker detailed with opals and pale Russian emeralds, with matching earrings from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery.

Makeup: Subtle yet glowy makeup was the look for this one. Nude lips to go with the pastel outfit.

Hair: Simple straight hair to go with that glorious veil. Simple yet lovely!

Wedding

Lehenga: Katrina chose a traditional Indian red bridal look. She wore a classic Sabyasachi red bridal lehenga in handwoven matka silk with fine tilla work and embroidered revival zardozi borders in velvet. In homage to the groom’s Punjabi roots, her veil was custom-trimmed with handmade kiran. The dupatta was draped in the typical Sabyasachi single-dupatta drape with one part tied to her wrist and the other over her head.

Jewellery: The lehenga was paired with bespoke bridal jewellery of uncut diamonds in 22k gold with hand-strung pearls from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery. She wore a statement mathapatti, a simple nath, and jhumkis.

Kaleere and Choora: Katrina wore customised kaleere by Mrunalini Chandra with coins dangling from them like charms. Anaita Shroff Adajania styled the bespoke kaliras with customized messages from the bride herself. Each bangle carried 6-7 messenger dove details and the charms and coins had messages from Katrina. She also wore smaller dangling kaleeras and chuda by Raabta by Rahul.

Makeup: Katrina channeled the minimal bridal makeup look, which is very trending right now. Clean, matte skin with subtle eyeshadow, kohled eyes, bold brows, and nude lips. A simple small red bindi completed the look.

Hair: Her hair was done in a center-parted mid-rise bun to highlight her mathapatti, The bun was done up with fresh white flowers.

Mehendi

Lehenga: Oh, we loved the blouse for this one! And she wore one of the most trending Mehendi hues for brides these days, honey gold! For the Mehendi ceremony, Katrina Kaif wore a multi-colored matka silk lehenga with a patchwork blouse and an embroidered tulle dupatta inspired by Sabyasachi’s graduation collection. It was inspired by India’s regional folklore, crafts, and nomadic culture, and layers of cheent prints with hand-fringed embellishments, brass sequins, and heavily embroidered borders.

Jewellery: The lehenga was paired with eclectic Navratan inspired jewellery with emeralds, uncut diamonds, multi-colored sapphires, pearls, spinels, tourmalines, and rubies in 18k gold from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery.

Makeup: The makeup was minimal and fresh yet again, with kohl-rimmed eyes and nude, glossy lips.

Hair: Her hair was left open with soft waves, center-parted for the statement maang-tikka.

Haldi

Outfit: For the Haldi ceremony, Katrina Kaif wore Sabyasachi again, an ivory organdy lehenga with gota and tilla embroidery, and an organza dupatta in gota and marori embroidery, trimmed with kiran.

Jewellery: She picked dry floral jewellery by Floral Art for this function, again, predictable, but still pretty!
