A Blissful Bangalore Wedding With A Bride In A Red Kanjeevaram

You don't always need to have a love story that is straight out of a Karan Johar film to win hearts. Sometimes love does all the magic, and that's exactly how Anita & Benjamin won us over. Their wedding celebrations were a beautiful display of love, laughter and traditions. However, there was more from their wedding, like Anita's tantalizing red Kanjeevaram, her elegant floral braid for Mehendi, and the couple's blissful vows that kept us hooked for hours.

The ace team of LightBucket Productions★ 4.9 left no stone unturned to capture every emotion with utmost perfection. Dive in to check out their wedding intangibles and you'll be sold at first glance!

Meet Anita & Benjamin

"My best friend was Ben's freshman hall mate and whenever I would visit her, I would see him around but at the time we were nothing more than facebook friends. 10 years later, they had a college reunion trip to Washington DC (which I crashed) and it was like we were meeting for the first time. Sparks flew and very soon after that, we were talking about getting married and how exactly to break the news to our parents, lol. Thankfully, with time, love and many conversations over dosas at my parents house, we decided to get married in Bangalore, India. We are also currently getting ready for round two as we plan our second ceremony in New York City in April."

From The Bride

As with any Indian bride, I wanted our wedding to be over the top and most importantly, one that our family and friends would never forget. Since we had over 100 guests fly in from all around the world, we wanted to show them how big Indian weddings are - and I think we succeeded! I always imagined having a traditional Hindu wedding but I also wanted to incorporate western elements as well to show both sides of my identity. We had multiple events: a Welcome Dinner, Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, the Ceremony, a Reception and a Farewell Brunch. Phew! It was no small endeavor figuring out how to make each of these events special and unique in their own way, especially because a majority of the events took place at the Ritz Carlton. We wanted our guests to feel special so we started by sending them a car to be picked up at the airport with a personalized audio message from us telling them how thankful we were that they would travel all the way to be with us on our special day and give them a little insight into the events to come. We also set up vans to take them shopping a day before the events started so everyone could feel excited and dance the night away in their new Indian outfits! For the Mehendi, I wanted to introduce the street style of India with a traditional puppet show, a tarot parrot reader, tender coconut drinks, mehendi artists, street food and of course after that long flight, shoulder massages! The Sangeet was a completely Bollywood themed show including professional dancers and of course, a Lamborghini to enter in style! The Ceremony was a traditional Brahmin Hindu ceremony and out of a fairy tale. I still tear up thinking about myself in that nine yard sari with my Amma and best friends by my side. The reception was magical and themed "out of the woods." We created a multi-tier pillow cake with toppers that matched our outfits and had a live violinist playing "Cant Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley as we walked in for the first time as not only husband and wife, but partners for life.

Vendor Reviews

Venue: The Ritz Carlton, Shiro

The Ritz Carlton became our second home for a month straight. We were there everyday and the General Manager and his team made our wedding week incredible with their kindness and hospitality! We got so close to every member of the staff that they eventually become part of our family. Thanks for making our wedding so special and for always answering my Whatsapp messages (even at 2am!)

Shiro was so special! We booked out the entire place and between the incredible food, amazing drinks (still dreaming of their Velvet Kimono) and the giant LED DJ setup we had, it was the best way to welcome our guests to India and get them excited for what's to come over the next few days.

Makeup Artist: Sabrina Suhail

Sabrina was incredibly patient and on time- even considering the Bangalore traffic! That made things so much easier and she kept me super cool, and my makeup on fleek!

Photographer: LightBucket Productions

I can't put into words how much we loved working with Lightbucket. From the first time we walked into their quirky studio, I fell in love with their style, approach and how much they love what they do - oh yeah, they are also incredibly talented! They are much more than just our wedding photographers now, they are our friends.

Wedding Planners: Shyamantha Surya

The incredibly talented Shyamantha Surya was my wedding planner and really was the one that made my dream into a reality. If anyone is getting married in Bangalore, she is the one to call!
