Everyone who has got married knows that more than the wedding, wedding planning drains you out. Our in-house wedding doctor suggests a weekend getaway to drive away the fatigue. Let’s check out the top weekend getaways that you can run away to!
Atmantan, Mulshi
This is the best place to be in if you are tired after all that wedding planning (who isn’t?). It’s a luxurious wellness resort which has yoga sessions, massages (we can see you packing your bags) and organic food. It’s a tad bit expensive but it’s inclusive of all meals, massages and sessions along with your stay. You can opt for the 3-day retreat as your mini-getaway!
Fort Tiracol, Goa
Bored of all the typical Goa places? Once an armed fortress that belonged to the Portuguese, Fort Tiracol is now content to spend the rest of its days on a cliff enjoying the kaleidoscopic view of the Arabian Sea and the spectacular estuary of the Tiracol River. We loved it for a luxurious yet rustic stay for your weekend!
Amanzi, Pawana Dam
They have themed villas! What more do we need! Spread across acres of lush greenery, Amanzi near Pawana Dam is your perfect weekend getaway. They don’t have TV or Wi-Fi so you can officially stop the wedding planning and sangeet practise co-ordination. Located in Tikona, it's the best place for trekking, kayaking and paragliding, so if you are looking for a bit of fun with relaxation this is it!
Le Meridien, Mahabaleshwar
Surrounded by rare evergreen forests of the Western Ghats, Le Méridien Mahabaleshwar is your perfect mini-trip of relaxation before the big day. You can indulge in the world-famous strawberry and cream, relax at the spa or lounge in the infinity pool; this pretty place has a little something for everyone.
La Villa Bethany, Landour
In the small cantonment town of Mussoorie, Landour is a magical land where it takes you away from the hectic life of the city where you can enjoy the bliss of doing - "nothing". Whether you enjoy the idyllic walks amidst a ridge of deodar, pines and rhododendrons in the lap of snow peaked mountains, overlooking the majestic Doon Valley or just want to curl up on a hammock with a book, La Villa Bethany is your place to be!
The Machan, Lonavala
Treehouses, outdoor rain shower, spectacular view and eco-friendly. We loved all those words! The Machan is located in Jambulne, near Lonavala where this tree house resort is all sorts of beautiful. Do note that this is right in the middle of the forest so if you are looking to step out, it’s all nature and no commercial places. The tree house is done up with hardwood floors and has a super luxe feeling that you and your partner need before the wedding begins!
