1. Food Installations: A cookie wall to pick a cookie from or maybe Hanging jars containing salad that you can pluck off and just eat. Food Installations are the NEXT big thing and while you may not have spotted it just yet, trust us - mixing food and art is going to be HUGE in weddings to come.
2. Indian-ised Alcoholic cocktails: Aam Panna martini anyone? Or maybe rooh-afza flavored cosmopolitan. Think kitsch, Indianised alcoholic drinks that will have your entire guest list super excited.
3. Food trucks: From Food trucks serving
Frugurpops, to nariyal paani and even rolls, food trucks are wheeling into weddings -especially Mehendi events in a big way. These are great because not only are they economical, they serve up some delish food and can create quite the novelty factor during the wedding.
4. Anything on a stick: Serving appetizers with guests dressed in their fabulous best means serving stuff on a stick is the best way to go. We have spotted mini rolls on a stick, mini burgers on a stick , even 'butter chicken on a stick'. This involved chicken tikka on a stick with a sauce as the butter chicken gravy instead of the regular green chutney.
5. Kiddie foods: From potato chips, to popcorn,
kiddie foods are being passed around during the pheras as snacks. There are popcorn counters spotted at cocktails, and even candy floss being incorporated into cocktails. Think back to your favourite childhood food memory (Maggi - you shall be missed :( ) and try to incorporate that into your big day buffet.
6.Interactive stations like 'Pimp your cupcake' : Want a bit of fun on your engagement? Get plain frosted cupcakes with little jars of sprinkles, marshmallows and more. Let the guests make their own cupcake . Your local baker should be able to hook you up with this. You can also extend this concept to other sweet , or not so sweet treats.
