Yup, being branded a 'Bridezilla' is no fun (unless you like it :P), but sometimes people stretch it a bit too far. Here are some moments in the run-up to the wedding, which are totally normal to have, but might be assumed as by others as a 'being a Bridezilla'. As long as you're being fair, being firm and standing your ground - these 5 moments can stay!

Fussing about the 'perfect' bridal lehenga or outfit, because good fit is EVERYTHING

This one is totally legit- going from store to store, designer to designer or even city to city to hunt for that elusive perfect bridal outfit for yourself is something we get! So much time, money and effort on this garment? It better fit well and stay in place. Fussing over fit is a-okay, expecting a good finish is needed!

Sticking to the theme - because you cannot change ideas based on availability of props

We start with the idea that you know what you want and your decorator has promised to give you the theme you want for your Mehendi. Negotiate at the beginning but you don't have to back down and stay resentful if he/she changes the theme or ideas according to the availability of props and decor. Often decorators do promise something but time constraints and availability hampers productivity and we hear from so many brides as to why they succumbed at the last minute but feel bitter about it. It's ok to keep looking at developments and giving feedback ASAP because - you agreed on a theme and you deserve just that!

To guard your wedding expenditure like it's a small baby

Spare no expense but keep a close tab on specifics. When it comes to weddings, everyone adds on the smallest details and taxes and vendors add up - so you need to stay on track. Know luxuries from necessities and if anyone tells you otherwise, give them an earful. Because nothing makes things go right than a bride who knows her mind. Guarding your wedding expenses and keeping vendors on track is your job.

Bringing work into your wedding preps

Yes, you're a wonderful worker and your boss loves you. But that doesn't mean you work till the very last day of your wedding preps, just to prove that point. A wedding is a one-time thing so it's ok if you don't want to prep for a presentation in the week leading up to your wedding. Inform them in advance and don't back down if they're unhappy. Don't feel guilty either - because once your time is over, you'll be that great worker again. So, it's really ok to stand your ground and say no.

Having an emotional meltdown before the wedding

There will be a lot of tears- not just on the wedding, but before and after it as well! An Indian wedding is like a roller-coaster ride, and emotions are gonna be all over.. you are changing your life, so it's ok to be emotional and embracing the moment! If the lead-up to the big day is stressful, things don't go your way or you are cheating on your diet - it's really okay. Just cry it out, have a glass of red wine and bitch to your best friend!
