Picnic By River Siene , Paris

In Paris but don’t want to spend a bomb in any 5-star dining? Have a romantic picnic by Champ de Mars. You can carry your own picnic basket which you can customize with whatever you like - a baguette, a little cheese, a charcuterie plate, some fresh fruit, and, of course, a bottle of wine! Choose to go just before sunset so that you can wait back for the free light show at the Eiffel Tower. Beginning at twilight and continuing hourly, this spectacular show lasts for five minutes and sees around 20,000 individual light bulbs all over the tower blink on and off, lighting up the city below. Best of all, watching this impressive sight won’t cost a thing!

Throw a coin in The Trevi Fountain, Rome

Glacier Express in Switzerland

This isn’t exactly cheap but it is quite reasonable given swiss standards and the experience it offers. The slowest yet the most scenic and romantic train route in the world. Glacier express connects two major mountain resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. You won’t get bored during 7.5 hour journey as you tour over 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass on the highest point at 2,033m while watching (and snapping) breath-taking alpine landscapes outside the window. Can there be a more romantic way to spend your train journey? Tickets start at $146 per head which is close to 9.5k.

Visit The Prague Castle

Overlooking the Czech capital and the River Vlatva, Prague Castle is the city’s number one tourist attraction. While you need to pay in to certain parts of the castle, such as St Vitus’ Cathedral and Golden Lane, you won’t be asked to hand over any money just to walk through the grounds. Try to visit around 12 noon to catch the elaborate changing of the guard. It’s utterly breath-taking and lovely to take a walk with your hubby in this fairy-tale castle!

Geothermal pools at Iceland

Did you think all those gorgeous turquoise water pools were too expensive for you? Think again! Dip your toes into warm turquoise waters at this incredible geothermal pool in Grindavík and marvel the incredible landscapes around while your body soaks and relaxes. This amazing romantic experience starts at ISK 6100 which is approximately 3.8k only!!!

La Tomatino,Spain

The last we saw on La tomatino was in ZMND! But you can experience for less than 15$ at Bunol. Spain’s brightest feast is held on the last Wednesday of August when the whole town of Bunol goes covered in gooey red tomato paste. You may not know but it is actually a week-long festival also featuring music bands, parades, dancing, and loads fireworks. Right on the night before the great tomato fight, everyone is invited to compete in a paella cooking contest. How cool is that?!

Learn Salsa in Havana, Cuba

How fun and romantic will be it is to learn Salsa with your partner on your honeymoon?! Hop on the party vibe and learn to move the local way. Taking private lessons will cost you around $6-9 per hour. That's like Rs 400-600 only!

Take a free night walking tour, Amsterdam

Amsterdam has a ton of walking tours- and most of them are free. You can tip your guide as much as you want.

Hobbiton, New Zealand

Don’t want to take that ultra-expensive chopper ride to the glacier in NZ? Plunge into the magical world of Middle Earth at Matamata in the North Island of New Zealand. Whether you are a Lord of the Rings fan or not, you need to see those perfect little hole-houses of Shire hidden in the emerald sloppy hills where tours start at 75$ which is less than Rs 5000!

Dining in the Dark at O.NOIR

Surprises are always amazing in honeymoons and this dine in the dark restaurant will surprise all your sense! Try and fork up your pasta or guess your surprise dessert at O.NOIR, a restaurant where guests dine in complete darkness, served by visually impaired waiters. This dining in the dark experience intensifies taste, smell, and touch. A basic three course meal is around 40$ which is 2.6k per head for such a unique experience!

Visit the Louvre for free

Paris is the city of romance and Louvre is a must visit when you are here! If you’re under the age of 26, good news – the Louvre is free for you to enter! If you’re not, but you’re a teacher, it’s free to enter also. You just need to be able to prove it when you’re visiting. And for all of you who are 26 or older, or aren’t teachers, take note that the Louvre is free to everyone on the first Sunday of the month!
