An elegant Pakistani wedding with an uber graceful bride: Jasmyn & Imran

BY The WMG Bride | 31 Mar, 2014 | 9279 views | 4 min read

One step inside the Pakistani Fashion Design Council store in New Delhi, and you are transported to couture wonderland. And while we cannot bring PFDC to you, we definitely can bring the super stylish fashion choices of Pakistani brides  from across the border. Safa was our first bride from Pakistan, and I hope you guys will shower as much love to our newest one - Jasmyn who made an uber graceful bride at her wedding.

Meet Jasmyn & Imran

The boring answer is that they met through mutual friends. Which is true. But the real story of how it all happened  , Jasmyn says is that  "One night our friends had planned a dinner on the top of cukoos roof in the old city. Everyone bailed at the last moment and it ended up just being the two of us, barely knowing each other at the time. We spent a good 4 hours on that roof, in the most rare incredible weather on what was supposed to be a hot July night. The sparks flew, and ever since then we’ve never looked back "

Jasmyn, you are a vision in those pastels. Tell us about your outfits

I had always imagined that I would be a traditional red bride. I ordered my bridal just four month before the wedding and Mahgul (designed the sari and the lace effect bridal joda)  was able to do a fabulous job in minimal time. Talking to her helped me choose something beyond just a set idea of what I wanted- But rather she drew off my own personal style to create something that was very uniquely me. My Bridal was a blend of different hues of peach, pink, and champagne. Mahgul managed to create a sort of unique embellished lace effect with her work combining both east and west by giving me a gown alongside a lehanga. The walima Saari was more tradition with a combination of mirror work on the saari and crushed mother of pearl. Mahgul insisted on adding in a Jade blouse with my ivory Saari to add character, and she was right, it couldn’t have turned out better. I see you are wearing a sari, is that common in Pakistan? Saaris aren’t really popular to wear on your wedding here in Pakistan. But things are gradually changing. The ‘Walima’ saari is becoming increasingly accepted. Lahore is a bit slow to pick up the trend, where as in Karachi its much more common. Its ideal for people like me who really only want the ‘Bride’ look for one day and want to sit back and enjoy the Walima. Our Walima was a day affair at a farm house, so the look went perfectly with the event. On a personal note, Ive always loved Saaris. They are my outfit of preference for formal events, so why should it be any different on your big day?! Your makeup artist Zainab did a brilliant job! Tell us more Zainab was so easy going to work with. Not to mention that shes very talented. I was apprehensive about having my make up done, as my past experiences with other make up artists have never been good. I don’t usually wear a lot of make up and was afraid of being too over done, but Zainab managed to give me a very natural yet elegant look, by enhancing just my natural features. She had her own vision of what do for each of my three days . They ended up being very different each night, and somehow she managed to get me to love each one of them. Vendor details:  Makeup:Zainab Abbas| Outfits:Noor Monnoo for Nikah (cream and green outfit) , Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh for walima and bridal (sari and lace effect outfit)    PS: If any of you readers had a gorgeous Nikah in India, we would really like to cover that too.
