A Gala fiesta at Della Resorts (Lonavla)

BY The WMG Bride | 06 Dec, 2014 | 8963 views | 4 min read

You would have to go through the wedding film of this gala affair (given below) to fully get a gist of how much fun this wedding was. Right from totally fun, crazy games at their 'Mela' event  which involved picking bricks out of water, puzzles and water shooting; to the bride's floor length Anamika Khanna creation (which we are mildly obsessed with) , the essence of this wedding has been captured by the wonderful wedding film by Dotdusk and photographs by Namita Azad.

Meet Puja and Ankit.

Its always said, the “East meets the West” but with this unique couple the “West met the East”. It was “arranged love” where Ankit worked his charm by wooing Puja with text messages, Bollywood YouTube dedications and his wit. Puja fell in love with this sharp, intelligent and hard working lad and quoting her, “I fell in love with his love for me” :) Within a blink, they got engaged twice, once in the presence of their first families at  Agra and then up in the air when Ankit, swept her off  the earth (literally) by proposing to her on a flight from New York to Mumbai (so filmy) Ankit & Puja | Mumbai, India | DotDusk from DotDusk studios on Vimeo.

We are very private people and therefore, did not want a big Indian wedding with people who we don’t even know. We insisted on a small wedding in Greece with not more than 100 people. Coming from traditional Gujarati families, we were shot down instantly on the argument that it would be impossible to have an Indian wedding in Greece without compromising on rituals and tradition. We both love our families immensely and thereby we came to a consensus of having a  wedding  in India with limited people. Whether hometown or overseas, we always wanted all our beloved family members to be able to make it to bless us on our auspicious amalgamation. While planning our wedding, we both were certain that we wanted a customized wedding with personal touches to everything from creating personalized key cards for our guests to making an app for all our friends and family who could not make it to follow with LIVE updates of the celebrations. Our mela event was a full blown carnival and it had a ton of funky games to keep everyone busy  . There was a brick game where you have to hold a brick immersed in water for a minute, a jigsaw puzzle which had the print of our wedding card, and a water shooting game where you could shoot water from a water gun from one end to another on the sail boat. Coming to the outfits, my style is royal fusion with elegence. Accessorizing is style for me. Anyone can wear anything that you can buy at any big designer labels but the accessories that you put together with an outfit is what sets you apart from the mannequin in stores.  Sabyasachi and Anamika Khanna are my favorite designers for their Royal Heritage touch and impossible scope duplication in their designs. I knew from the start that I would only wear them for my wedding.  To top it all, we both were really certain we wanted these memories to live on forever so we wanted an amazing photography and cinematic videography team. After working with Namita Azad Photography for our Save-the Date photoshoot, we were certain we wanted her on our team. She introduced us to the DotDusk cinematic videography team from Delhi. Both of them have been incredible at what they do.
