A Delhi wedding at the Vista for a "Band Baaja Bride" !!

I don't know about you, but we for one have ALWAYS wanted to speak to a bride featured on Band Baaja Bride, and ask her all about the magical experience of getting a makeover by NDTV, and a jaw droppingly stunning outfit by Sabyasachi. So when we got a chance to feature Shivanis wedding we were EVEN more excited because to date, she has been one of our favourite Band Baaja Brides , and that soft peach and gold glistening floor length anarkali that Sabya gave her will come floating around in our dreams !!! With a stunning photoshoot by Avantika Meattle (organised by NDTV), along with pictures from Think Tonk (organised by family) with makeup magician Anu Kaushik, this is a visual feast!

Meet Shivani & Jatin

Shivani says "It was like a typical filmy meeting at my cousin's wedding.  I dropped all the gifts on the stage and he came to help me out and that's where everything started.  We were in touch through orkut at the time (before the facebook era!!) and our first meeting was for a romantic movie: Music and Lyrics.We dated for a month and then he left for the U.S.A. to pursue his residency in Medicine. we met a few times back and forth but it was predominantly long distance courtesy skype and whatsapp!! "

Shivani, you were one of the lucky ones to be on Band Baaja Bride , tell us EVERYTHING

Well, we had filled in a form to be on the show but never really thought about it as much. So when we got the initial call in the preliminary selection stages, we were so elated, and when we finally made the cut we were BEYOND excited !!!

The shooting experience was extremely hectic to say the least but a very very special and memorable experience. The whole BBB team was so warm and welcoming and we made a lot of good friends. The shooting itself went on for 16 long hours per day  For my husband it was even more exhausting as he just landed a day before we flew out to Mumbai from Delhi and he had to shoot through jet lag. So doing all of that in the run up to the wedding was exhausting but so much fun.

One of the highlights of the show ofcourse is meeting Sabyasachi, I have no words to describe him. He is so humble and down to earth. He is the most passionate and dedicated person when it comes to his work. He spent around 4-5 hours just to make sure that the jewelry that was selected matches my outfit and would stand out. After that we shot at his store in Mumbai till like 2 AM even though he was also jet lagged from a recent travel. His talent has no bounds and that's obviously evident to everyone who has seen his work!!

The whole team from the female director (who is sooo adorable) to Juhi (extremely down to earth and funny!!) to the camera guys to spot boy were so warm and welcoming. We saw a totally different side of the television industry and realized how hardworking and persistent they are  and overall it was an outstanding experience!!

My outfit was a total surprise. 3-4 days before the wedding I was only told that it was pink and gold in color. I got to try it on 2 days before the wedding for measurements and that was the first time I got to see it. Jatin though didn't see my outfit until the evening of the wedding when we did the photo shoot. I had full faith in Sabya's work and choice so I was very calm about what my outfit would look like"
