A '2 States' Delhi Wedding With 2 Self-Designed Bridal Lehengas!

BY Sakshi | 11 Jun, 2025 | 327 views | 4 min read

When a designer bride plans her own wedding, you know every detail is going to be curated carefully. Nehal and Nihar's cross-culture wedding in Delhi was a perfect blend of style, tradition, and heartfelt moments. As someone deeply involved in every aspect- from the decor and music to the outfits, and of course, with a little help from the WedMeGood App, Nehal made sure her wedding was as unique as they come. From a sundowner Mehendi at their family farm with guests in floral print outfits from her own label NEH, to a glamorous cocktail with live performances, and finally, a breathtaking wedding featuring a floating Mandap and live Coldplay rendition, this wedding truly had a personality of its own! Take a look.

Meet Nehal and Nihar

"Nihar and I met through a common friend who thought it would be funny to pair two people with almost the same names (Nihar is pronounced as Nee-har). We dated for 2.5 years and eventhough he is a Telugu boy and I am a Delhi girl, our cultures overlapped and in October 2023 we were engaged!", the bride tells us.

Mehendi

The Mehendi was at our farm and it was a close knit affair. Almost everybody was in NEH (My clothing brand). It was a vibrant sundowner with everyone in floral prints dancing the night away.

Sangeet

For the Cocktail, I wore Jayanti Reddy. I opted for a peach lehenga which was a very different choice from the usual glitter. Her designs are so elegant and easy to repeat! The Cocktail was a glamorous affair with a live band- Kingscode followed by a percussionist and DJ! We opted for a disco ball rather than the usual laser lights.

Wedding

Finally, the wedding was the MOST MAGICAL night. Our guests were mesmerised by the decor and the floating Mandap. I entered on a rendition of Yellow by Coldplay which was played by a live pianist and violinist. The wedding was a mix of Telugu and Aryasamaji rituals which kept the guests fascinated till the very end. And finally to conclude the rituals, the next morning was the Satyanarayan Katha where I was dressed as a Telugu bride.

About The Wedding

Our wedding happened in March in Delhi and being a designer myself, I was very particular about the decor, the musicians, my bridal entry, the guest experience and most importantly the outfits!

On the wedding day I wore a self designed lehenga which was a hand tied bandhani as I didn’t want to wear something any other bride would have ever worn. All my jewellery was self designed. My mom has always been very creative when it comes to jewellery. We looked around, but instead decided to take my mom’s old pieces and make something new!

Vendor Reviews

Venue: Morbagh and The Roseate

Morbagh for our cocktail was FABULOUS. The food was amazing and the staff was helpful and professional.

For the wedding we went with The Roseate, NH-8, the waterbody added a beautiful element to our wedding day. The hotel is definitely a great option for those who want to have a destination wedding in Delhi (even if you are from Delhi!!)
